Unfortunately, in the U.S., you're screwed if you DO have higher education, too. Can't get a job and still owe as much as it costs for a house, or MORE. For us, it's a toss-up which is a better idea, with or without uni.

Well, I didn't have much choice, since you can't get a job in a library here in Sweden without a higher education, pretty much. So yeah, I had to if I wanted to work in libraries.

It is getting there here to, since so many are getting higher education as it were...

#19 - for real! I wanna smack a person for being any less than respectful to the parental units. My parents are awesome. Still. I'm grateful they are still here. I grew up with the right balance of discipline and freedom so that we kids could go out and think for ourselves. Be leaders not followers. Be bold. When I hear of how other kids had it I know I am fortunate.

It's not about the military respect that I see some parents demand from their kids. No, I just mean that the kids listen and that they can grow and have freedom still, you know? Discipline is good, as long as it is not overdone. :-)

Sounds like we've been lucky when it comes to parents both of us. ;-)
