So Christmas. :-)
I had a WONDERFUL Christmas this year. I really did.
Went to
peting73s aunt on the day before Christmas Eve and just hung out with his side of the family, his mom, his aunt, cousin and such.... It was really really nice. Traded gifts and stories and such and had a generally good time. They have this tradition that no gift can cost more then 30 SKR (4,12 USD). Makes it quite trixy to buy gifts then, but I had managed this year to find cheap and nice gifts on an online acution site, so I just managed to stay within the limits! :-D Go me! It was a lot of fun. :-)
On Christmas Eve we went to my moms house. A two hour drive. :-P Christmas Eve is The Day we celebrate here in Sweden. We were a little early, but we helped mom prepare the INSANE Christmas smörgås bord she always have every other year (when not at her house, we are at my aunts). We just managed to both watch the traditional Disney Cartoon show on TV AND fix all the food before my aunt with family came over. It was A BLAST! We ate food until we nearly burst, then we watched TV and talked, and then we exchanged gifts and then we played games until everyone was so tired, my aunt had to go home. Me and
peting73 stayed the night, so mom had fixed up the guest bed for us. :-)
Christmas Day we didn't do anything at all. Don't celebrate anything special on Christmas Day. We watched movies with mom. Played more tabletop games. Helped her clean up after Christmas Eve. Talked and hung out. :-) It was really nice.
Then on Boxing Day, my brother has a Christmas party to. Sort off. :-) My both uncles on dads side of the family, mom and us go there and we eat food (yep, more Christmas-food), exchanged gifts and just had a really good time.
I was so relieved everyone liked the gifts I had shopped this year. I'd shopped all of them online, home-made soaps and jewellry that I'd found on various Etsy shops. (Worked great shopping from these people!) So that was awesome. :-)
spicehobbit knows me damn well. I got the book
The Strain by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan (YAY! REAL fucking vampires!) and the original score to
Jesus Christ Superstar (the 2000 version). WIN! And I got an electric blanket from mom (since I am always damn cold during winter! X-D) ALSO win! From my brother I got a brilliant t-shirt that says Please find more time for reading books and has a steampunk styled pile of books on it. WIN AGAIN!
More happened, of course. (Don't it always?) Nothing bad though, and it'll have to wait for another post after New Years. :-)
I really hope everyone had a LOVELY time during Christmas and could take at least a few days off from work and such.
For New Years Eve (that has techniclly started, but eh...) we plan to just hang out alone here at home, watching movies AAAAALL day long, and
peting73 is going to fix up his famous four course dinner (two desserts... I love him...). We always eat some form of strange meat for New Years, and this year crocodile meat is on the menu.... I hope it'll taste well. I'll report laters! :-D
TAKE CARE AND ENJOY NEW YEARS, YA'LL! :-D
