What. A. Day!
Since we had a two hour ride to get to the baptism, we had to leave early. But we got there with plenty time to spare. :-) The baptism was a great affair! Theo was so cute! And so was Tilda! It was awesome! And as soon as I got there, I walked around and hugged everyone, since... thats what we do in our family and extended family. :-) My brother and his fiancee was kinda busy, so there kids were taken care off by everyone else. Tilda came to me! Yay! So we walked together to the church from the rustic site where the feast was to be had afterwards.

The baptism was like... every other baptism I have been to, what with the water-splashing, the prayer, the psalms... Nothing new. When all was done, the priest (who was awesome) said: "Well, now Theo is baptized and that is done. And you all think that is all for today. Well, we are also having a wedding, so please stay seated."
Talk about shock! No one knew anything about it! So, a wedding-ceremony started. It was a bit on the short side, but still a classical wedding-ceremony. And all the while people were crying and laughing from happiness in the church. Was awesome. In my mind I couldn't stop thinking that it is soooo typical of my brother to pull a stunt like this. And how very very VERY much like my father he acts, moves, talks... He don't look much like him, but damn... he acts like him.

That baptismal gown that Theo is wearing has some history, btw. My grandfather was baptized in that. Both my uncles and my father was baptized in that. And my brother. And Tilda. (Not me, sadly.) It was made from the bridal veil that my grandfathers mother used when she got married.... It is probably over a hundred years old by now. Very fragile and very very pretty.
This is a close up of that baptismal gown. You can really see in this image how very very fragile it is. Lots of history right there. (Click for bigger.)
Back at the rustic site for the party, I talked to my brother basically teasing him and giving him a hard time for not telling anyone. He just laughed and teased back. Thats how the brotherly and sisterly love between us works. At least he didn't give me any bruises today... *grin* While talking we were standing by his huge and very gorgeous Ford Galaxy, his pride and joy that he puts his whole family in (plus the dog) and takes rides in just for the hell of it. All of a sudden people started to take pictures of us! What the?
So here we are, my brother and I. :-) (Click for bigger.)
The party at the rustic site was awesome! As you should know by now if you have been on my f-list long enough, my family and extended family is huge, awesome, very loving and slightly insane. :-D So, the party went on and on... Lots to eat, lots of people to talk to, lots of kids running around... It was great!
So the end this happy post, I'll leave you with a photo of me and
peting73 all dressed up and fancy. ;-)
Not to shabby looking, eh? All other photo's were taken by
peting73 with his awesome camera. Said awesome camera caught the attention of my brother and he started to play around with it, and ended up taking this photo. :-)
After a long drive home we are now... collapsing in front of our computers, just taking it easy. :-P
