Classical cartoons... Cartoons as they should be. :-)

You know. YouTube is, at times, a gold-mine. Seriously. I don't know why, but I got it into my head to see if there were any Tex Avery cartoons on YouTube. And it was. Good lord. I found a gold-mine. If you ever feel like watching cartoons, you should watch the old once from the 30's, 40's and 50's. The golden age of cartoons (and comics). And sure, Disney was on a roll then, but seriously... Tex Avery rules them all. I'll just share a few of my favorites here for you all. I highly suggest you check this gold mine of cartoon-history out, even if you never enjoyed cartoon's even! These... you'll enjoy. I garentee it. :-)

This is my favorite, Red Hot Riding Hood. You think writers are making fun of old stories now? Check this out...

He also took his own take on another story... Swing Shift Cinderella...

Or he simply took some superstition and made fun of that. As in this cartoon. Bad Luck Blackie.

Tex Avery was also the inventor of the character Droopy. I found two of my favorite old Droopy-cartoons on YouTube as well (that I couldn't embeed, so you gotta follow links for those... Oh woe...)
Droopy Dumb-Hounded is a classical Droopy-story where he constalty does the impossible. :-)
And...
The Shooting of Dan McGoo where Avery is taking on a classical story from Canada with the help off Droopy and crew.

Don't know who Tex Avery was? Well. Can't have that now can we? ;-) You can read about him RIGHT HERE. I think that covers most. And if you want a list of all the cartoons he has done (so you can search for them on YouTube perhaps...) there is a list there as well.

Enjoy! :-D
