Notes: Post-"Ancestor Cell," because it's the little things about amnesia that get you down. The icon (and therefore the drabble) is inspired by the scene in The Taint where the Doctor and Fitz first met.
Anji had asked how he and the Doctor met, and Fitz was surprised by how easily he remembered. He told her about the old biddy with the garden gnome, and how he'd put on a French accent and spun a ridiculous tale about Tolkien (it seemed childish, looking back). Then the Doctor had arrived, all velvet and curls, trying to buy a dead begonia for tuppence and beating him at his own game.
The Doctor said something in French to catch him out, and he had never asked what it was. Rather stupid of him; now he would never know.
