I could be a good sportswoman. I could be proud that the Lightnign were defeated by the Stanley Cup Champions(tm New Jersey, Detoit, Colorado, and Dallas). I could be glad that Terry's team won. I could do all of this and more and smile and say that next year will be better. I could be proud that the Ducks went as far as they did.
I could do all of that. But then it just wouldn't be Keri.
Fuck New Jersey. Fuck Brodeur and Stevens and Rupp and all of them. Fuck the trap and all other borign hockey. Fuck the Conn Smythe consolation prize. Fuck it all right in the ear.
I know next year is Dallas' turn to win, but I will again live in hope. I will hope there is another underdog run next year. I hope they will meet someone besides the Fuckin' Four in finals. I hope a Canadian team makes it that far. I hope that heart will triumph over hard cash. I hope for there to be no clear favorites. I hope for a lot of things.
