A while back I was terribly drunk and reccomended a band names Kaiser Chiefs and their song "Oh my God." Said song also went on the CD I kept threatening
tbmyoung39 with. Anyway, a few posts down Christy requested I give her more band names.
The Karelia - Alex Kapranos' band prior to Franz but after Yummy Fur. It's got horns, and he had crazy sideburns buring the time. Their record company cut them after one album ("Divorce At High Noon"), but is re-releasing it, probably to cash in on Kapranos' recent fame and fortune. Alex advises us to download that motherfucker to spite the company. I concur. And it's really good.
Bloc Party - They've been billed as the second coming of Franz, which is ridiculous since Franz is still a baby band and they're not from Glasgow. They sound cool though, frenetic. I dig them.
Kinky - Latin wackiness. Of course there's "Headphonist," but "Mas" and "Presidente" and "Great Spot" are awesome too. Very funky.
The Bravery - "...is this New Order?" No, it wasn't (although New Order does have a new album out. I just know "Honest Mistake," but it's cool.
Arcade Fire - They're from Quebec. And they should probably sue the Arcade Inferno. "Ecclectic" is one way of putting it. I like "Tunnels (Neighborhood I)".
All for now.
