Quinn Fabray is decidedly annoyed as she taps her foot impatiently while listening to Finn rant on and on in indignation about how unfair her sudden interest in Rachel is.
“Quinn, this needs to stop. Now,” Finn growls angrily to the blonde as they stand behind the bleachers of the football field in a faceoff.
Said blonde cocks her hip to the left and places a hand on it as she glares up at Finn. “Why? Because you’re losing? Because Rachel spends more time with me now?”
“I am not losing anything,” He fires back. “Rachel loves me-”
“Well then if she loves you so much, you shouldn’t have anything to worry about, am I right?”
“You really think you have a shot don’t you?”
“I know so, Finn. Just don’t come crying to me once you lose her.”
“If you’re so confident then you wouldn’t mind telling her your grand scheme, would you?” He folds his arms across his puffed out chest and smirks in victory.
Quinn raises her signature eyebrow at yet another challenge and replies confidently, “I wouldn’t mind at all.”
Heart pounding with nervousness, yet refusing to let it show, she spins on her heels and strides away with a confident swag, in search of a certain brunette.

Rachel sits on the piano bench in the choir room as Quinn and Finn loom over her. She’s just heard what’s been going on between the two of them this past week and doesn’t quite know what to make of it. She’s secretly pleased of course…but they don’t have to know that.
“I am not just some piece of meat for you two to fight over,” She scolds. Quinn and Finn at least have the decency to hang their heads.
“We’re sorry, Rachel-” Finn starts.
“Yeah, we’re really sorry,” Quinn continues, cutting Finn off. “It’s just, I’ve recently accepted my feelings for you and…I want you too.”
Fighting the smile that’s threatening to break free at Quinn’s admission, she responds. “Even still Quinn; I am not just some plaything for the two of you to fight about. I am a person with feelings and I expect to be treated accordingly. Understand?”
“Yes,” She mumbles; still looking at the floor.
A small smile flits across the brunette’s face as she questions, “So, what are we going to do about this?”
“What do you mean?” Finn questions. “Tell Quinn you’re not interested and we can all move on.”
She briefly glances over at Quinn who’s already looking at her with curious eyes before she answers Finn. “I would be lying if I said those words, Finn.”
“Damn it, you have got to be kidding me!” He shouts. “You actually want her?”
“I-I don’t know what I want.” She lies. “I just don’t want to rule out any options.”
“So what does this mean?” Quinn finally breaks herself imposed silence. “Are you giving up, Finn?”
“No, hell no. I’m not just going to let you have her.”
“I’m not a piece of meat, Finn Hudson!” Rachel yells, indignantly.
“Sorry,” He mumbles, looking like a kicked puppy.
“Well I’m not giving up either,” Quinn says. “Sorry Rachel, but I guess you’ll have to deal with both Finn and I for a while until you decide.” She tosses a wink at Rachel as she turns around and makes her way out of the choir room.
“I can’t believe this,” Finn mutters, darkly once Quinn’s gone.
“Finn, I am sorry, but…I have had feelings for Quinn since…middle school,” She admits with a blush adorning her cheeks.
“It’s ok,” He breathes. “I was here first, which has to mean something.” He flashes his lopsided grin that drives all the girls crazy as he leans in and tells her, “I’m not giving up that easily, Rachel.”
He kisses her languidly and pulls away to retreat from the choir room as well.
Rachel slumps back against the piano. She wants to be able to say that they both have a fair chance, but she can’t deny the fact that while Finn was kissing her…she was thinking about Quinn.

Two weeks into the competition and Quinn’s able to get Rachel to agree to a date. She should have chosen what the date would entail, but she wanted to earn brownie points for being chivalrous and thus allowed the shorter girl to choose what they would be doing. That…was a mistake. It was a mistake because now she was sitting in Rachel’s bed watching ‘Funny Girl’. She thought the movie choice was awful, but she couldn’t fight the occasional smile from blossoming on her face while she watched Rachel watch the movie. She looked happy and peaceful. At least she’s not reciting every line, Quinn thought.
Since she wasn’t watching the movie, she figured she could at least watch Rachel. That would provide some entertainment. She traced the length of her beautiful brown hair with her eyes, noticing how it stopped at the tips of her breasts. She chose to ignore the argyle sweater she was wearing and watched her breasts rise and fall with every breath. She had so many desires for the brunette but she also realized how real her love for her was. This wasn’t about competition-don’t get her wrong, she would love to kick Finn’s ass at snagging Rachel’s heart and was confident that she would-but it was also about how much she wanted to be with the shorter girl.
“Quinn? Is there something wrong?” Rachel was starting to get worried because the blonde had been staring at her for quite some time.
“Huh? Oh, no. It’s nothing. I was just thinking.”
“This is a boring date, isn’t it? I’m sorry; would you like to do something else? My dads and I usually play board games. We have Monopoly, Scrabble-”
“No, Rach, I’m not bored. I was just watching you,” she admits with a blush adorning her cheeks.
“Oh,” is Rachel’s simple response. Her own blush rivaling Quinn’s.
“Look, Rachel,” Quinn says as she leans towards the brunette, feeling compelled to be near her. “I just want you to know that I care about you a lot. This is more than a competition to me.”
“I care about you too, Quinn,” Rachel replies, a little breathlessly as she mimics Quinn by leaning in.
Quinn leans in the rest of the way and lightly brushes her lips against Rachel’s. She keeps it light, allowing Rachel to back out if she really needed to. When she doesn’t move away, Quinn’s lips become more insistent. She captures a full bottom lip between her teeth and gently bites down. Her reward is a throaty moan from the shorter girl as she grips blonde locks and pulls her closer.
They tumble backwards onto the sheets, Quinn landing on top. She drags her tongue along Rachel’s lips and dips inside once she’s granted access. Quinn’s never kissed another girl before but she’s wondering to herself why the hell not. She loves everything about the shorter girl. Her lips, her tongue, the way her hands are tugging in her hair makes Quinn feel so sexy. Everything about this moment felt so right.
Everything felt so right, but she had to reluctantly pull away.
“Quinn,” Rachel pants, “what’s wrong?”
“Nothing’s wrong, Ra-”
“Was I using too much tongue? Was I pulling your hair too hard? Oh no, do you even like to have your hair pulled?”
Chuckling at the girl under her and moving to sit up, she explains herself. “Rachel you didn’t do anything wrong. I liked everything you did. The tongue, the hair pulling, it was all really good.”
“Then I don’t understand-” she moves to sit up as well.
“I don’t think we should go any further until you choose who you want. Now, it’s Friday, so you have the whole weekend to decide and get back to me on Monday.” Quinn grabs her shoes to put them on, while Rachel continues to sit behind her, thinking.
“Of course I hope you choose me, but I also want you to be happy. Whatever you decide, whoever you decide, I’ll understand.” Quinn leans in to give Rachel an earth shattering kiss, making sure to give the shorter girl something to think about for the next two days.
“Goodnight, Rachel. I’ll see you Monday, ok?”
Flustered, she tried her best to give a coherent reply. “Yes, Quinn, I-see you Monday.”
Quinn smiles at her as she exits her room.
Rachel again wants to say that the two of them have a fair chance. Yet she has to admit to herself that she hasn’t thought about Finn much outside of seeing him in the past two weeks.
