enlarging my nose-hole
Here are those pics from my most recent septum stretch.
This stretch was quite a bit more difficult than the last one. I had lots of difficulty getting the taper all the way through, and then once I was able to slide it through a few times without wincing (which is how I gauge when I'm ready to insert the jewelry, since following the taper with the jewelry just does not work for me), it took me quite a while to be able to insert the retainer. I think the reason it was such a difficult stretch might have been that I hadn't showered--warm water, heat and steam from a shower helps loosen things up. Last time, I showered immediately before, and had been occasionally tugging on the jewelry for months.
I don't have visible jewelry in right now. I have a 10ga circular barbell to wear, but JUST LIKE LAST TIME, the balls on it are huge. Even bigger than last time, I think; these seem to be 5mm balls, which is one of the larger sizes. I tried putting the ring in one day and was just like, "no." Hah. I need to find some smaller balls! I miss having a visible ring in my nose! This retainer is great for hideability, though: it's black niobium and virtually undetectable, even when looking directly up my nose, unless you know what you're looking for.

Halfway. I was totally forcing a happy-ish look for this one, because my nose effing hurt. I ended up having to sit around like this for about an hour, watching Oprah, because I could proceed no further. Haha.
