So are you doing the same thing I am? I started my other LJ about 4 years ago, and wanted a new start, away from the pressures I felt with maintaining a friends list that grew out of control, and the lack of anonymity I had there (I had a lot of RL friends there as well, and didn't feel like I could let er' rip anymore).
Yup. My old account was about four years old as well. I pretty much just didn't want everything to be so open anymore, as I'd made it be in that journal. I plan to use the friends-only feature a bit more liberally this time around so I can get to the meat of some stuff.
I had a friends list of 100+ people, and didn't really get to know the majority of them. And then I started creating all sorts of filters for posting and reading. It became too much to keep up with. This time around, I'm going to keep all of the personally indentifiable info out of my posts, and make it all public. I intend to lock down nothing this time around.
But it's interesting that we found each other...I hail thee as a sister and a kindred spirit ;-)
