I'm lying down in bed, naked and under my electric blanket, with my laptop on a bed tray that I've got semi-haphazardly propped on one leg. I don't think it gets much better than this. Hahah. :)
I felt very industrious today. Mom has been at Steve's since before I woke up around noon--car trouble again--so I've been able to do as I please without her interjecting about my "weird" interests. It's been nice. Anyway, yeah, the weather here was absolutely gorgeous (what the fuck?), so I went out on my scooter. I didn't get out of the house until 5:00, when the sun was about to completely set, so that limited my options a bit... but I decided I'd check out the new Fajita Grill place that opened down the street from my house about a month ago in the ex-Taco Bell building.
It. Was. AWESOME. I got a chicken quesadilla, and it came with a serving of tortilla chips and a choice of either mild, medium, or hot salsa. I went with mild because I'm usually pretty much a wimp when it comes to spicy food, but all that basically was was chopped-up tomatoes with little green flecks thrown in. Next time I'll try medium. Oh my god, I can't stop thinking about that salsa now. I'm not even really a fan of salsa normally, but that stuff was pretty good. And oh, dude, my mom made tuna melts on the Foreman grill yesterday and I'm fantasizing about them now, too. Too bad I've already brushed my teeth and taken my braces off or I'd totally go downstairs and make one. Yum.
After Fajita Grill, I went to Rite Aid and bought a bunch of junk, came home and fooled around going in- and outside to plug/unplug my scooter charger and let the cats in and out, stacked a pile of ancient magazines I'm never going to read in the recycle pile, filled up the cat food bowls, emptied the litter boxes, folded and hung the towels in the bathroom up here, and now here I am. I think I did more today than I have in the past couple weeks. Haha. :) It feels good to be productive!
50bookchallenge was featured in the "LJ Spotlight" or whatever on the front page, so of course about a million people joined and had to make introductory posts. I had to remove the community from my friends page because it got so absolutely ridiculous. I think I counted maybe five entries per page that weren't from that community, and I have it set so that my friends page shows 50 entries at a time. Insanity. I was starting to get a little bored with reading peoples' book reviews, anyway. Not that books aren't great... I guess it was more overwhelming. I've been using my LJ memories to keep track of stuff people mentioned in there that I might want to read, and there are a LOT... and I also have a shit ton of books that I own that I haven't read. So it's not like I have a lack of material.
Speaking of which, have you heard of LibraryThing? It's a website you can use to catalog your book collection. I was minorly obsessed with it a month or so ago and added pretty much every book I own to my account. If you're interested, my library is
here.
YAWN. I've gotta read a little more, and get my hungry ass to sleep. Good night, LiveJournal.
