Finally, a legitimate update
Well, first off, Fitz is NOT part of the deployment to UAE! Hurrah! What that means is that my Atlanta arrival date is solidly December 10th, and I can't wait to see all you losers. Fitz and Sarah arrive on December 18, and will be there through the 1st of January. My visit, however, is a bit longer, and I'll be there to brighten your days until February 11. I can't even tell you how stoked I am about Christmas with my family and friends. For anyone who doesn't have family in the area, or who doesn't "do" family, Mama and Papa Bagley have extended the invite of Christmas dinner to all my beloved homies. Just let me know about a week in advance, and I'll be glad to put you on the super-awesome guest list.
Things I Want to do in Atlanta-
1. Take Sarah shopping at Filene's and Lennox (she's from a town with like 6,000 people or something lame like that, so I want to treat her to some big-city specialities) and fully integrate her into Ktown society (*$'s, Nickie's, the Barrett Parkway lifestle)
2. Take in a Nigh Eve show (I'm there for two months boys...surely you guys can make something happen)
3. Host a dinner party/poker night sometime between Christmas & New Years. Brooke's been talking a big game about "kicking Fitz's ass" in poker again, and we want her to put her $$$$ where her mouth is. :-)
4. Celebrate Risa & Rebuy's birthdays in a truly Rawkstar style.
5. Spend some quality time with the Oglethorpe Folkies I didn't get to see that much on my last visit (particularly Mimsy, Special K, and my APO fam)
6. Speaking of APO, pop in at the regional convention and raise a little old school hell. I am, after all, the greatest Inter-Chapter Liason EVER. ("I'm a liason, I liase" ~Eve "Angel")
7. All in all, just enjoy being back on home turf with all my fantastic friends
Unfortunately, Fitz has to work 12's this weekend (7-7...uch). So I'm home with the Mookster solo today, but I think I'm going to go out with Sarah tonight. Also possibly Jeremy. Jer is this kid who works at Hastings (think 1/4 the size of Media play with x5 the Christian book section) who is really kind of rad. We were supposed to hang last night and watch "Amelie", but he had to move his stuff from his old house to new, so that got kind of cut short.
I'm reaching the finish line for my Christmas Crafts. Everything is finished except for Blake's scarf/hat and R&R's "project." I also have to do some stuff when I'm home, because I lack basket-making supplies and other necesarry crafties. However, I hope that my constituents will be pleased with their prezzies. Library Fairy, I came up with the PERFECT thing for Josh...email me if you want to know.
Risa and Natalie called me yesterday, and it was great to hear from them. Apparently Ris and I were burning a hole through Nat's daytime minutes, but Nat told me I'm "worth every one." It's good to have friends like mine. I'm a really lucky person, and I know it.
Oh yeah, I played poker last week, 4 person game. Got second place, but Wes and I were going back and forth heads up for over an hour and a half, which is pretty impressive. And I think I've secured my place as the best female player at Charlie's, which is really bitchin'. I'm still not great, but I do better every time I play.
I figure I've rambled enough today. If anything interesting happens tonight, you can be sure I'll post about it.
