Weekend looking up

Nov 04, 2005 23:50

Well, I paid my speeding ticket today, and it was $85. Not terrible, but still leaves me needing to win at poker tomorrow so that I can buy my shoes.
Today was Bob's (Sarah's husband) last day at the shop. So, of course the boys tackled him, tied him to a pod cart, and dumped every nasty thing they could find in the shop fridge on top of him, and Alex Villeda threw a 5-gallon bucket of nasty mop water onto Bob. I got summoned to the shop with the video camera so that Fitz could document the entire thing.
The colnel on base got promoted, so he declared the enlisted club to have an open bar for the rest of the night. Some of Fitz's co-workers (*cough* Derek *cough*) were definitely taking advantage of it.
I went to Hastings to do some writing tonight, and just jotted down something that had been knocking around my head. It's probably not that good, but considering OU's night of the arts is tomorrow, I feel the need to share my "art"

One Year Ago

This time last year
I would have been
Invisible to all.
No one stopped to notice.
But a year later it all
has changed so much
And I can feel the eyes on me.
Someone's paying attention.
Is it just my look
That makes men look
The way they never used to?
Or is it something else?
Is the way they look
Because they way I see
Myself has changed?
Is it my own perception that draws their eyes?

I promise to extrapolate on this subject soon.

Peace out doggies
