I just watched "A Happening in the Park" which was Barbra's concert/television special back in 1968. There were so many men in the audience. I'm sure a lot of them were straight. Man, I wish I lived in the '60s where everyone loved Barbra and men weren't called gay for loving her. I hate that our society formed a stereotype that men who like Barbra are likely to be gay. I know there are lots of people who set their minds against her just because the society tells them to. I'm gay, and I love Barbra. I don't love Barbra because I'm gay. And I hate when people ask me if I really love her or do I just pretend so to fit into a stereotype. Like, first of all, do you perceive me as a faker? Second of all, WHY do you think ANYONE would want to fit in a stereotype? WHO finds that interesting? If I were to pretend, I would pretend to like cars and footballs, so that straight guys find me interesting because I'm gay but I like guys' things.
Barbra is phenomenal. And you're not gay if you like her and you have a dick. I know a couple of straight men who like her and I find them incredibly sexy because of that.
