Our faces slowly inched towards each others.

As our lips were about to touch, a loud noise popped at the back of the bus.

"Minna! We have a problem. Stay calm and please calmly wait outside." Yamamoto Sensei ordered.

We rushed out, panicked. Nakajima seemed kind of frustrated, but he still did so.

Kimiko came up to me and elbowed my ribs. "Nice move. Too bad for this."

I nodded, blushing. I can't like him. I don't like him.

Reassuring myself some more, I never noticed him staring at my confused face. I never noticed that grin.

"Yoshite! Imma go take a bath in the creek. Anyone want to join?" Kimiko announced.

A lot of people started dashing to the running water. I stayed behind a little.

Kimiko trudged to my side and thrusted my arms in her hands, dragging me along.

"I don't wanna take a bath~~" I whined. Kimiko ignored my complaints and sat me on a boulder.

"Loosen up, Hirza. Taking a bath will keeping your mind off of things." She muttered, pointing at a looming shadow nearby.

Kento caught my eyes and smiled. I waved my fingers and returned to Kimiko.

"Fine, fine. I will." She giggled and walked off, removing her shirt.

I sighed and looked at the clear blue water. Kento sat next to me, moving very silently.

"Hirza..." He began. I didn't want to hear anything. I stretched and stood up, cutting him off.

"Hirza..?" I yawned. "Imma go take a bath." I grumbled.

He followed me. "Umm...Privately please." He still followed me.

"Nakajima Kento-san!" I barked. He froze right behind me, his breath tickling the back of my neck.

"I..." I knew what was coming. I didn't want to hear those words.

Pulling off my shirt, I yawned again. "Ahh~! The water's probably cold ne?"

He sighed in disappointment. "Sorry to bother you."

Ripping the rest of my clothes off, I dipped in the water.

"Hirza!" Kimiko called. I was still drying my hair, but Kimiko's voice sounded really urgent.

"Nani? Did something happen?" She didn't have time to answer, her pants mixed in the air.

"Hurry, come quick!"  She pulled me up the steep hill to the bus area.

Looking around, I saw what she meant. Gasping, I covered my mouth.

"Oh my God.." There was Yamamoto Sensei's body lying on the ground, blood-streaked.

"What happened here?!" I shrieked, trembling. Without a teacher, we students were helpless.

What are we supposed to do now? We have no one to lead us.

As tears formed in the corner of my eyes, I couldn't help bursting into sobs.

Kento stepped towards me, patting my back.

I shook my head, crying even louder.

Kimiko took my shoulders, whispering nonsense to herself.

"Don't cry, Hirza. Everything's going to be alright.."she trailed off.

I jumped up, tear-streaked. "Everythings going to be alright?! You've got to be kidding me. Kimi, our teacher is dead, the bus driver has fled. Where are we going to stay?"

She bit her lip, pacing. "I don't know! I really don't have an idea..."She wailed.

Hikaru frowned, settling her down. "Shh... Maybe we can find the camp site and call for help." He suggested, a goofy grin spread across his face.

I was dumbstruck. "Stupid! How the hell are we going to do that? None of us here knows how to drive."

"We can walk. It'll be fun and we can exercise together."

"It's not gonna work. We're all gonna die!" I burst into tears, sitting back down on the broken log.

Hikaru took a big, deep breath. "Ikuzou, minna!" He bellowed in a deep voice.

Everyone shrugged, not caring. At least they were going somewhere.

Kento sighed. "We should go as well. It's be a good experience. And perhaps we'll find the camp site." He tugged on my sleeve, smiling.

His bangs fell from his ear, making him look serious yet gentle.

I nodded while getting my bag.

Hikaru whistled and sang about mountain hags while stomping up the steep hill.

He giggled and grinned, nodding off once in awhile.

I could here Kimiko teasing him, all lovey dovey.

Disgusted, I decided to stay away from the couple.

"Are you feeling well?" Kento appeared behind me, smiling innocently.

I nodded. "Ne, Kento.."  "Nani?"

"You think we're going to be okay?"

"Of course! Don't worry anymore, okay?" He gave me a brief hug as I nodded.

We found the camp site, excited.

Until the dead bodies started appearing.

The counter was filled with them.

It took me forever to control my sobs. I didn't want to be alone with no adults. It was scary.

We decided to just get some rest and find food in the morning.

But the nights were filled with shrieks and cries of pain of animals being eaten.

I couldn't fall alsleep no matter what. i just ended up sleeping on Kento's shoulder.

We were buddies now, hanging out and stuff.

I never really had a thing for him so it was okay.

Kimiko payed more attention to Hikaru and ditched me all the time.

My best friend? Ditching me? IMMA KILL THAT DUDE.

But I still have Kento. He seems to be nice and very comfortable to talk with.

As the days passed, we barely managed to feed ourselves.

We fed ourselves on plants and water.

Some male students would go hunting, few returned with deer meat and most never returned at all.

Our population grew smaller each day.

I began relying on Kento. I needed his friendship more than anything.

It was the only thing that kept me from breaking down.

But it still wasn't enough to keep me from crying for the important people I love the most.

Kimiko was killed while Hikaru and her were hunting.

Though they were killed, the other party managed to find a big pile of meat next to thier stiff figures.

I cried for two days straight. I knew she was really gone, but it still hurt.

Kento hugged me, reassuring my doubts.

"Kento...?"

"Yes?"

"Don't ever leave me.. Please..."

"I promise.."

[Chinen's point of view]

I felt darkness all around me. I couldn't feel anything at all.

All I could do was listen to the beeping of my heart.

But then the door opened and someone called out, "Chii!"

It was part of my name, but it certainly wasn't my name. This person must have gotten the wrong room.

"Chii?" It said. I decided to force my eyes open. And they did.

Again it called the familiar word, "Chii..?"

He was looking at me like I was his long-lost-brother or something.

Without knowing, my lips moved creating the words, "Who...are...you..?"

The boy backed away from me, his hands leaving mine.

I heard him choke out the words, "Oh my God." And that was it.

Again, I asked the question. "Who are you?" I said more firmly. "I..think..you're in..the wrong..room.." My voice was barely higher than a whisper.

I saw tears forming out of the corner of his eyes. Just who was this person?

About a half-hour later, a sobbing woman burst through the door, cradling my head.

I tried yanking her away from me, pushing with all my might. But nothing happened. She just held me tighter and continued to sob.

Finally, the nurses had to pry her off of me and give me my medication.

Yuya Sensei walked in, muttering to himself.

"Ah, Chinen-kun. How are you feeling?" I warmly smiled. I admired this doctor a lot.

"Genki desu. Is there something wrong with me?" I pondered innocently.

He patted my shoulder and grinned crookedly. "You were just in an accident. Don't worry."

I nodded and touched the shoulder he patted. Giggling to myself, I forgot about the boy from this morning.

And I never noticed that he was watching from the window...

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

[Ryutaro's point of view]

I saw that cheeky smile. I saw that reassuring pat. I saw everything.

The way Chii smiled at him. The way he giggled quietly to himself.

Oh that doctor is going to pay! He's trying to steal my Chii with that crooked grin...

I stopped mumbling to myself when four tall boys were laughing a bit too loudly in the hall.

One of them was particularly short, but to me, they were all pretty tall.

They stopped dead in their tracks as their eyes met mine. I stepped away from the window and scurried off.

"Oi! Chotto matte yo!" One of them hollered. I ignored the call and ran faster away.

An older boy, just a few years older than me, stepped in front of me, stopping my feet.

"Gomenasai.." I panted, trying to catch my breath.

"No problem. Just don't run anymore okay? You could hurt someone."

"Oh by the way, I'm Morimoto Ryutaro." I shook his hand lightly.

He chuckled and introduced himself as well. "Boku wa Yamada Ryosuke desu."

We started chatting for awhile and got to really know each other.

"So, why are you in here?" I asked. He pointed below his stomach. "Just a minor accident."

I saw him flicker his eyes to the counter where the "handsome" doctor was.

I laughed nervously. Ouch!

And then someone cleared his throat.  It was Chinen. I was about to speak when Yuya Sensei spoke.

"Ah, Ryo-chan. Nice to see you.. better." He chuckled with a smirk. "Still limping?"

Yamada blushed madly and nodded shyly.

"Chinen, please meet my number one patient, Yamada Ryosuke."

Chinen relunctually shook his palm, a flash of envy in his eyes sparkled.

Ryosuke nodded and took a good long look at him.  "Hope you feel better soon." He waved.

Yuya Sensei signaled him to meet somewhere and looked back at him.

"You must be Morimoto Ryutaro. Pleased to meet you, young man."

I bowed and our hands remained in contact for a while.

His eyes were locked on mine, while mine were on his. We both experienced jealousy that day...
