Well, a late post, but...dahmooserApril 5 2005, 22:27:40 UTC
Chrissy,
seeing that you are one of the few LJ people who calls me your "friend", I thought it polite to go and read your journal more.
good question, this one.
True Love. My friend said that the ultimate form of love is trust, since you can never BE that other person, you don't know how they feel, you can only TRUST that their feelings are similar to yours.
My wife and I met online, Yahoo personals, back in 1997 (I think). She said she knew she was going to marry me the moment she saw me, I, on the other hand, wasn't sure.
From the day we met, we saw each other EVERY day for at least a year (except for a few business trips I went on). So, at first I thought it was infatuation, but after that, I realized that it always made me feel good whenever I'd see her.
We've had our ups and downs, the "infatuation" isn't there, like it was, but I still miss her when I'm away from her for a while. She's a real companion.
Some relationships DON'T involve lust at the beginning. You grow to know someone over time and then realize how great they are and then one day it hits you, "hey, I'm on love". I think these relationships (when they are reciprocated) are the ones that have the strongest foundations.
So, that's my own two cents, for what they're worth.
