(no subject)
looked at the apartment today. i was really telling myself over and over not to a. get my hopes up and b. like the apartment too much just because it's an apartment.
BUT GUYS I KIND OF REALLY LIKE IT.
ok, so it has some downsides. it is a basement. thusly, very few windows and at first glance it smelled a little funky, but after like, 2 minutes i didn't notice anymore. i'm thinking it's nothing that some candles and cooking a couple of delicious meals can't fix. (in which, i'm hoping that it's not really a cat that peed on the heaters or something that i'll discover in an awful way months from now). it's also a little rough around the edges. part of the heater panel was falling off. no tub, shower only. there is also that pesky $2100 dollars up front.
however, THE UPSIDES.
it's 700/month and includes heat, hot water, and electic. and it's basically a one bedroom, even though it is advertised as a studio. they can't call it a one bedroom because there is no closet in the bedroom. and there's not door. however, there is a 4x6 room just outside the bedroom that is basically A WALK IN CLOSET. or an office. or an office AND a closet. the landlady seems nice. i seriously can't get over how big it is.
so i'm turning in the application tomorrow and we'll see what she says. there were two other people looking at the place, but one of them was late and kept calling her cell phone over and over and over when i was in there and the other person had a husband and two kids. she was like "i'm pretty sure i can't legally put you all in this apartment, but i will check". it's also in the basement of a child care center, which sounds bad at first but they are only open monday-friday and she said it is quiet from 5:30pm to 7:15am, which works perfectly with my schedule.
so yeah. we'll have to see how this goes.
