news!
so i can finally share some news that's been running around the connolly family all week. as some of you guys know, my sister was invited down to georgia tech (expenses paid) a few weeks ago for prospective students weekend. and we finally got word....
LAUREN'S MOVING TO HOT-LANTA!
she'll be moving down to georgia this summer to start her five years at georgia tech, for her PhD. (don't ask me how she is so smart, i don't know). also, it was her birthday this week, and she officially hit the 100 pounds lost mark this week. needless to say, she's pretty happy this week.
what this means for me is that sometime this summer i will be helping to drive her and her things 18 hours to atlanta. and after that, i will most likely be moving out of my apartment for the last 4 or 5 years, and into a studio (or one bedroom if i am very, very, very lucky) of my own. probably on the north shore, because that's where i keep seeing stuff in my price range.
so, all of those cleaning and organizing projects that i have been putting off for the last 2 years will finally have to happen, because, oh hi i'm leaving and downsizing my life into a couple of rooms.
since i'm actually home this afternoon, i'm working on cleaning my bedroom right now, which i've needed to do for about 2 months. cleaning this whole apartment is going to be hell. i'll be getting rid of a lot of stuff. hopefully, i can sell some of it on craigslist, because lord knows i'll need the money. i'll make sure to throw a notice up here when i'm selling it, in case there is anything you guys want. i know offhand that at some point i'll be selling a rocking chair, probably a guitar, maybe a tv, a bar, and all kinds of random stuff.
also, i still have no idea what i'm going to do about a 3rd roommate for june, july and august. i also don't know when my sister is planning on moving out. she said maybe july or august. i hope she plans on paying the rent through the end of august!
anyway, it's going to be a long couple of months of changes.
