it was such a crazy great weekend. we didn't end up going to tennessee, so i just stayed the night with nate friday night. we stayed up until 5:30 talking and laughing and joking. i love that. we woke up around noon and went to eat mcdonald's for breakfast in our pj's. (guess what....we're way too cute to be a real couple sometimes)
ashley and brian decided that they wanted to get out of richland county regardless of whether or not we could go to tennessee so we piled into ashley's little kia and went to carbondale (i didn't really want to go but ashley somehow talked me into it). i was still pretty tired and nate's shoulder was way too comfortable so i ended up sleeping most of the way down there.
we get there and see this place that we're supposed to be staying. oh my gosh, you don't know shitty and rundown until you see this place. lol. it was smack dab right in the middle of the ghetto with crackheads and dragqueens on either side of it. brian didn't have a key so he jumps in the busted window (real comforting and safe, lemme tell ya) and lets us in. there was nasty food and dirty dishes, dirty clothes and overdue ashes so convientienty strewn throughout the small trailer. it was disgusting. the room nate and i slept in was maybe....MAYBE 8 by 8 foot and there was no floor. only a mattress. you couldn't even shut the door! plus there was dirty clothes all over the filthy mattress and uh....man goo on the blankets so needless to say, nate and i were very scared.oh well, we dealt with it.
we all went to this nice little mexican restaurant called trace hombres and it was pretty good. VERY expensive, but good. and since nate had absolutly NO money, the trip was expensive in general. after we got done eating we dropped teh guys off at a little bar called show me's and ashley and i went to the mall. i got a pair of jeans and two shirts at old navy. we were only there for less than a half hour before the mall closed so we didn't have anything to do.
we stopped at a little rundown gas station so i could get a drink and as we were leaving ashley backed into the gas pump and it was hilarious. we freaked out and laughed forever about that. luckily the only damage was a small dent and bent licence plate.
after that dilema we just drove around checking out the city and some apartments until the guys called us back. we all just went to the trailor and listened to some cd's and nate and brian play the guitar. it was SO much "fun." okay, maybe not, but we managed. about 1 a.m. nate and i ventured into our room and talked until around 4 a.m. again before we drifted off to sleep. this was after brian came running in screaming and falling and running into things because he was drunk out of his mind looking for his pants. we just laughed and rolled our eyes at the mess we'd gotten ourselves into.
i woke up a little before noon this morning to nate looking at me. the first thing i hear is, "you're so beautiful when you sleep, baby." what a way to wake up. i am so looking forward to the day we move in together. he's so great.
we got all our stuff together and said our goodbye's to the lovely homestead and headed out on our little sightseeing adventure. after traveling all over the countyside (because brian kept getting lost) we finally made it to "inspiration point" in shawnee park. it was breathtakingly beautiful. we hiked a little in the woods. it was amazing.
after that we were heading back to carbondale when we spot this little shop off the highway in a remote little area. we stopped and let me tell you!....this place had everythign from propane and icecream to firewood, dildos, live crickets, bongs, body jewelry, wine, tee-shirts, anal beads, porn, "classic butt plugs," football grills, and concrete angels. we all had a good laugh about that place.
after we left we went to the mall so i could get a spacer for my tongue ring and we finally left carbondale.
nate laid his head on my lap and fell asleep in a little ball in the backeat. he's so adorable. when he woke up, we traded positions and i fell asleep on his lap for the rest of the trip. once we got back to noble, we went back to nate's house so i could finally take a shower while he went to russ's to see about a job. and once he got done with his shower, he played me a few songs on the guitar and we talked a little more then i came home.
and that right there, ladies and gentlemen, was my weekend in a nutshell.
great great times indeed
