7 Days Till Christmas

Haven’t posted in a while due to the insanity that is my life. :-D
Last weekend was a super huge stress-fest and I am now looking forward to relaxing for the holidays. If only I didn’t have to work!!

First of all, Jenn graduated this past weekend and I couldn’t be more proud of her. It was a really nice ceremony where they had student speakers instead of complete strangers who are there to receive an “honorary degree” for having no association with the college. So she now has her Bachelor of Science in Human Development and plans to go straight onto grad school next fall. Go girl!

Ali & I threw our annual holiday potluck for all our Willamette friends on Sunday. Way more people showed up then we expected and it was great! We had about 16 people attending and people stayed for over 6 hours! Having the potluck at my house kind of forced me to get all the decorations up and now my house looks great! We had great food & great company. I hope some year I will have the space that this gathering can be opened up to all of my friends. Maybe when I have a house…

A random thing happened towards the beginning of the potluck. I was sitting there talking to friends, when Ben across the room calls out “Krysta, you have something red on your foot” (I was barefoot). I look down and almost the entire top of my foot is covered in blood. Wha???? Sean starts to freak out and I quietly told him to shut up as I calmly walked to the back bathroom. (I didn’t want to make a scene) We discovered that I had a cut all along the top of my foot that I never felt. It wasn’t even that deep but I sure did bleed a lot. We still have no idea how I got cut but it took almost an entire day to stop the bleeding. Weird…

Standard terminated the temp job Sean was doing a month early. They just told all the temps when they were leaving for lunch last Wednesday not to come back. I think that is really lousy. They told Sean that the project would end in January but then cancel it two weeks before Christmas. Also, I guess they decided not to open up the full time position to the temps because they wanted people more qualified. Yeah, that makes sense! You would think since they have been performing the job for the past two months that they would have some decent qualifications.  So Sean’s looking for a job again. Thankfully, he is still with the staffing agency so they are setting him up with some interviews but he is actually getting just as many on his own. I’m hoping he’ll find a job that is not with Standard since they keep going back on what their word. Keep your fingers crossed!
