Summer is long gone

Well then,

Summer has come and gone. And as usual, life chooses to be an annoying thing. Work is going okay, having a month or so away from that JHS was really good for getting rid of the stress in my system. But then I lost my Grandad. I had some warning, my dad had called me one weekend to tell me that Grandad had had a heart attack and was recovering in the hospital. Two days later I got a call actually to my phone. Which is never a good sign. Grandad had passed away in the hopsital. Cue keeping feelings at bay and trying to get time off to fly home. Thankfully, my boss was super understanding and let me take a leave of absence. Sure no pay for those days I was missing, but it worked in my favour I guess.

I took a few extra days to spend time with family and friends. I couldn't see everyone, because not many people knew that I was even back. But I had a good time. And attending the funeral really helped me with the grieving process.

Wine with a kimono cover, my beloved katana (the black one is real) and my baby sisters.

Anyway. Since I got back, I've got a few things in motion.

1st - I got in contact with my old company and have let them know that I'm interested in going back to them next year. They've "penciled me in" which basically means they want me back, but can't guarantee anything. So come the New Year I have to get back in touch and we'll see what happens. I've also negociated a slight payrise. Which will really help me out.

2nd - I started recording my new LP! The Never Alone LP is all recorded with only a little left to go! So after that a new series will begin! Here's the playlist! The new one is having a few video issues, but I'm hoping to sort them out!

3rd -  I'm going to try and get back into baking! I really want to challenge myself a bit with something a little different. I've looked into alternatives for fondant icing because I've not found it here. And I found a receipe for marshmallow icing! I'm looking to try and make something this month as a sort of trial run. It'll probably add up cost wise, but I think it would be worth it!

I'll keep you posted!
