Well, it’s been a while.
It’s summer vacation now, and I’ve already done quite a lot. Had an old friend stay for 5 days, had a music jam with new friends, thrown a surprise party for a friend and taken a day trip.
I’m well aware there’s 5 weeks left of summer, and still have lots to do!
Anyway, the bit you are all probably interested in is what’s happened in my love life.
So.
2 - Kyoto train driver dude
3 - Tokyo engineer dude
I met 2 for the third time last week. He came over for dinner and a movie (War Horse). Got al settled down to watch the movie - all cuddled up and comfy - and I was pleased to note that while we were watching everything was all very calm. He wasn’t immediately trying to feel me up. We got about a 1/3 of the way into the movie when he phone rang and we paused so he could answer it. Needless to say that after he was done on the phone we didn’t return to the movie. We could have, but didn’t. After that I went to cook dinner which he happily helped me with. We ate, decided that maybe he should go home in the morning, and then finished the movie. It was after the movie that we had a mature discussion about what was happening with us. It didn’t take long for us to decide we wanted to give things a shot. So, I have a boyfriend, Ryosuke. He also brought me a belated birthday present which I really wasn’t expecting but was adorable.
But, a few days later I met 3 for the first time. Plans hadn’t been made properly and in the end I had a 3 hour train ride to go meet him when originally there was supposed to be none. Since having only just started with Ryosuke I decided to treat the day like two internet friends meeting - not as a prospective date. And it’s a bloody good thing I did. Under no circumstances could what happened that day be considered in any way shape or form to have been a date. He was an hour late to meet me at the station, brushed off getting lunch together (so I had to skip lunch), pretty much ignored me dying from the heat as we walked around and when I turned a sit down in a café into a speaking lesson he seemed really pleased. Which thankfully meant that I didn’t feel weird meeting him at all.
I felt like I made the right choice with Ryosuke even between the two different dates with the two guys. And that feeling has only been amplified after the “date”. I’m sure some people would think it iffy that I got all lovey-dovey with Ryosuke and then went to meet another man, but everything worked out and I haven’t been put in a situation where I have to hurt 3.
I already have my next date with Ryosuke all planned out for in about 2 weeks. I’m very much looking forward to it. It’s interesting. While I want to spend more time with him, I don’t find myself pining over him wishing that we could get together right now. I’m happy with the messages and feelings he gives me. Who knows, in a few months I might get piney and whiney, but for now I feel very content and loved. He’s promised me a shirt of his that I can sleep in (since I stole his when he was here) and he decided it looked good on me.
So, plans for the rest of summer:
- One day of work - helping out with some training.
- Lunch with a friend (and getting a tenimyu ticket at the same time)
- Date with Ryosuke
- Tenimyu
- BBQ
- Two UK friends staying with me for 10 days - includes a visit to Nara, Kyoto and Tokyo.
