So today the universe seemed to be apologising for a very bad moment at school yesterday and the fact that my boyfriend is over a thousand miles away down in Okinawa this weekend. I woke up at a reasonable time. Okay, so that was due to the neighbours having their kitchen replaced and the people doing it were making a huge racket. But it was a natural enough wake up, and I managed to have an extra 30 minutes before crawling out of bed. Took my time with breakfast, caught up with what's out of Hawaii Five-0 season 3 and then got to cleaning. Wipes around all my surfaces with a cloth and alcohol spray, wiped down the bath/wet room and cabinet unit, bleached the toilet, wiped down everything in the kitchen as well as bleached my food waste bin. With all that done I was feeling pretty good, and the neighbours kitchen sounded like it was done by that point.
Chilled out chatting with Perky until I realised that I'd better head up to the Nitori Mall about 30-40 minutes North of my apartment by bike. I wanted to go to the 100 yen store there as it has different and better stuff than the one that's close to me. Found some cute house/bed socks as well! I had to get them.
I also rediscovered the haberdashery/craft store that I thought was in the other mall. This made me very happy as I was disappointed in the range of materials the one in the other mall had. I was greeted by several shelves of wool of all sorts of textures. I only ever use the simple ones that are reasonably soft but the choice was just so lovely. I finally got the shade of blue I wanted to make Tomoyuki his Christmas scarf! I'm going with a ribbing pattern, I've never done it before so it's fun to try something new while being simple. He should like it, the Japanese are big on the whole "homemade" thing. Especially from girlfriends. Here's what I've done since I got started after dinner.
And when I got home my packet from my mother was waiting in my downstairs letterbox (I have two, one downstairs at my entrance and one on my front door). She'd bought me a cheap bag and decided to send it to me because, well look at it.
