I officially have a cold.

I went to bed last night with an stupidly big headache. I took some painkillers before sleeping and slept with a cooling strip on my forehead. It took hours to get to sleep, which was really annoying considering that lesson prep kept me up until about 00:30am and I'd originally planned to get into bed at 11:30pm.

I woke up feeling utter shit to be honest. I got up and pottered around, thankful that I'd packed my school bag in it's entirety the night before. It meant I could take a few extra minutes to sort myself and essentially drug myself up for the day. I discovered at 7am that the medicine that I was about to take was the last lot that I had. So I had to get through the day on the stuff that I took first thing in the morning. So off to school I went. By the time I got to school my head felt clearer but not 100%. Safe to say I made it through my classes and did my best to take it easy for the day.

Coming home I picked up some of the face masks that the Japanese so love to wear and popped one on before going to pay my bills. The last stop on my journey home was the drug store. I wanted to find more of the medicine that I'd taken in the morning but couldn't find it on the shelves. It was when I was looking for the medicine that one of the clerks came over and started talking quite quickly in Japanese at me, presumably asking what was wrong and what I needed. I looked at him and pulled my mask down to talk to him and the look on his face was priceless. He hadn't realised I was a foreigner because with my mask on and my hair hiding my blue/green eyes I had apparently looked like a Japanese person. He dredged up some English and asked what was wrong. I got across that my nose was runny and sore throat and he helped me choose some medicine.

Hopefully by taking this medicine coupled with some earlier nights sleep (I don't have much lesson prep to do until next week now) will mean that by Monday I will be back to 100%
