So at the weekend I went to say goodbye to some of my girl friends from school.
It was also Lauren's birthday so on the Friday we went out for a curry and spent ages just catching up on things. As usual with us the conversation swerved all over the place from movies to men and around to work and books. I managed to make everyone laugh by trying to listen to two conversations and misunderstanding the word "organs" to mean the instrument not the things inside the body and so couldn't understand why it was so shocking to have organs go missing in a movie. Much curry was eaten and a good time had by all and then the bill was less than we were expecting which was a nice surprise. Lauren looked pleased with all her presents which included home made truffles and a hand made scarf from Lou which everyone was impressed with.
Saturday took us to Bluewater (what used to be the biggest shopping centre in the UK) because there were things I wanted to buy and I was desperate to eat a steak before leaving the country. People who know me well will know that I don't really do shopping, so I was surprised to find I'd spent nearly 6 hours in a shopping centre. But we did stop mid afternoon to try out the Cadbury's Cafe which is basically a cafe centred around Cadbury's chocolate. We each had a different type of hot chocolate (rum and raisin, chestnut, chai) which were all very yummy and then 3 of us shared a curlywurly sundae. Which we couldn't finish. It was just a mountain of cream, ice cream, chocolate and curlywurly (a form of toffee covered chocolate). After more shopping we stopped off at T.G.I. Friday and had an awesome dinner. I got my steak and had my first alcoholic drink in a few months. It was like a rainbow before I stirred it as told to by the waiter to make it taste better. After stirring it didn't so much resemble a rainbow as it did dirty dishwater. Tasted brilliant though.
Sunday was spend at Kelly's house writing A-Team fanfiction. Well Kelly was writing, I was peering over her shoulder offering suggestions and correcting things as I saw them. We also had a bit of a Miss Marple thing going in the afternoon. Miss Marple is a series of murder mystery books that got turned into a TV series and is really quite good. Kelly's parents also cooked me a Sunday Roast which was brilliant of them as it was the last one I'm going to have before I leave.
And then I came home today~
It was a great weekend. Lots of good memories made with the girls.
(Also I need to poke Kelly to get that fic from her lol)
