The Tattoo chapter seventy
Nino opened his eyes to find himself staring at his lover’s naked skin. Taut muscles were pressed against his cheek and he could feel the steady thumping of his heart against his ear. Somewhere not too far away he could hear a bird singing, announcing its joy of the arriving of the dawn, it was such a happy and peaceful moment that felt as if all other humans life had vanished leaving only him and the sleeping prince. He knew that it couldn't last, soon his Lord would be there making it impossible to enjoy the moments such as this but for just this moment he wanted to enjoy it.
“…Tiger…you wake too early…” Ohno mumbled sleepily his fingers running down his back and Nino felt his lips twitch into a smile before he kissed the nipple that was conveniently beside his lips before whispering;
“I wanted to be able to enjoy this moment with you, locked in dreams no matter how pleasant couldn't compare to this…”
“You will have many more moments of peace my tiger…”
“Perhaps but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy this one…” Nino sighed moving just slightly so he could prop himself up on his arm and look down at him through the curtain of silky black hair. His free hand rested on the flat stomach feeling it rise and fall with each of his breaths “my Lord will be here soon meaning that we will not have the luxury…even if he approved of the plan he will not make it easy for us…”
“I know, but focus on the positives of him coming so early you little sparrow will be here…” Ohno smiled chuckling a little as his hair tickled him and Nino had to admit that seeing his boy here in the palace wasn't as positive as he had first thought. It wasn't that he didn't want to see him because he did more than anything but he would rather him stay away until the monsters were dead.
“I…I wish he would stay away, the things your father…the lords will do to him…” He admitted glad when Ohno pulled him up so he was covering his body with his arms wrapped around his waist holding him tightly. For a moment Nino thought that it was sexual, he wasn’t adverse to having early morning sex but he was had been hoping for more, but of course he should have known that he was once again confusing him with Sakurai, Ohno had much more substance than that. The hands that had been resting on his back moved up to thread through his hair light brushing the strands away from his face as he whispered with all the honesty that he could muster;
“I will watch over him, tiger I promise…Your baby bird will be unharmed…”
“Thank-you…” Nino smiled kissing a stubbly chin before tucking himself into his neck wondering if this was how normal couples felt “I was going to ask Tsukuru to watch over him too…The boy has no skills yet but I am sure that he could take somebody out if I gave him something ready-made…”
“…You place a lot of trust in that would be assassin…”
“…Is that wrong?” Nino frowned stiffening just a little as he thought about his little apprentice, the boy had done nothing that he had seen that might cause suspicion but as he had been unconscious for a lot of the time that they had been here it was entirely possible that Ohno had seen something that he hadn’t. As far as he was aware though his lover was found on the young boy “You encouraged me to…”
“No it is not wrong…Your instincts are more refined than anybody else I have ever met…I trust you completely…I was merely surprised…” Ohno shrugged sighing as his hands moved down his body again “I wish that we could spend the day here in this bed…”
“I wish that too, my love but…I have an emperor to seduce…” Nino sighed his arms tightening around the firm body of his lover his nose brushing against his skin until a knock, soft and sweet against the wood pulled them out of their happy peace. He rolled off of Ohno and delicately wrapped himself in a cover as Ohno called out;
“Enter…”
“Excuse me…” A female voice replied as the door opened. A woman dressed in a simple blue kimono entered her head bowed low and her posture watchful as if she was waiting for an attack “I…I do not mean to disturb you but…The emperor…He…He has the requested the presence of Ninomiya-sama…For breakfast…”
“Tell my father that we will be there as soon as possible…” Ohno barked and Nino watched with hopefully surprised eyes as the woman’s face went through various colours and emotions before she tried to press herself even further into the wood of the floor whispering shakily;
“I…My…Most imperial highness…The invitation was for Ninomiya-sama alone…He told me to make that very clear…”
“Well you can tell my father that my lover is staying with me…” Ohno growled and Nino was positive the woman was going to faint. He knew that there was no way that she could say such a thing to the emperor without some kind of punishment and he was sure that Ohno knew that too but his worry was blinding him. He gave a small giggle hiding his mouth behind his hand before he moved forward making sure to keep his body hidden by his loose kimono.
“My love! I will go to see your father, I…I am sure that he simply wishes to sound me out…I appear here in his palace at your side from nowhere…And then I grew sick…I am sure that he wishes to ask me questions…But I will be fine…” He said hoping that he managed to get his meaning across while sounding completely innocent for the woman that had brought the message “Your father has been nothing but kind to me my love, I cannot repay him by making him think that I do not trust him…”
“My father has shown you too much kindness and that is why I worry…” Ohno sighed playing along before kissing his nose. Nino gave another light laugh blushing as much as he could his head tilting away from the man that he had been making shout the night before hoping that he still looked the blushing innocent.
“…Your father is an attentive man, my love but you have nothing to fear…” He breathed before turning to the woman and saying as brightly as he could manage “Please tell Satonori-sama that I will be there as soon as possible…”
“Yes, my lord…” The woman whispered and for a moment Nino was positive that he could see sympathy in her eyes and he was reassured that his play act had been successful. He kept his smile on his face for the length of time that it took for her to leave the room and then exhaled his whole body slumping as he tried to recollect himself.
“Tiger…” Ohno breathed his hand coming to rest on his shoulder squeezing it gently “I know that this is our plan but…”
“I will be fine…” Nino cut in forcing himself to smile again shaking himself out of his mood his shoulders straightening as he set his mind to his plan of seduction. Simple was the way to go so early in the morning. He would have his hair up but looking a little dishevelled with his clothing wrapped loosely around him allowing for some exposure. It was something that he had done many times before. Becoming aware that Ohno was staring at him in concern he patted the hand that was still on his shoulder “My love please don’t look at me like that, I have done this far too many times in the past to have you looking so concerned I promise…I just…I should have known that the peace a few moments ago was far too good to last…But as soon as we have done this we will enjoy more moments…With my boy as well…”
“Yes…But it is what happens before then that has me concerned…”
“To have more moments like that with you and my bird…I would endure more than you could possibly know…Now I must get ready…”

“My love!
