“I have to go back to school, now don’t I?”
“You don’t have to pussycat. You’re married and bonded, legally you’re married and have every right to stay here with me” Satoshi hummed in response his hand moving up and down his back and Nino sighed with happiness, his eyes closing as he gave a happy little shiver knowing that a part of him wanted to stay here with Satoshi forever but the biggest majority of him wanted to go back to school and graduate along with his friends and get an education that might help him in his career as Satoshi’s assistant. “But I would like you to go back and spend time with your friends, as you are now bonded you may leave the school whenever you like unchaperoned”
“Even bonded they don’t like us doing that” Nino sighed thinking of Masaki who was only allowed to leave with Sho. It was strange and hurtful that even a school run by Omegas for omegas would easily play into the rules of a dominant being king. Satoshi stiffened and Nino looked up at his husband’s face just in time to see his eyes flashing with a little annoyance at that.
“I will make sure that they understand that you have that freedom, Pussycat. You are not a prisoner, you may be bound to me but I am just as bound to you and if I am allowed that freedom then you are as well” Satoshi said adamantly and Nino was sure that he felt a rush of something close to what could be described as love at the words. They were so powerful and he imagined that one day other people would listen “You said that your friend is to become a teacher there…I hope that when he does he might be able to make the lives of the omegas in his care easier”
“…Masaki is different from you” Nino told him thinking of all the ways Masaki had already tried to persuade the Omegas at the school that they were worth more than what they were being given. Like most of the Omegas there, Nino had ignored him for the most part he had often been jealous of Masaki for having such great parents that had allowed for him to pick his own bond mate and marry for love. It wasn’t a luxury many would have, though Toma had also been fortunate and had been allowed to marry Jun. There wasn’t as much pain as he had been expecting at that thought though there was still something of a hallow feeling in the pit of his stomach. He quickly snuggled into Satoshi’s chest running his finger around the mark that he had been lucky enough to make and the feeling went away.
“Why is he a typical omega?”
“There is nothing typical about Masaki or Sho for that matter, he just knows his place and knows that nobody but another omega will listen to us” Nino smiled shaking his head “He already tries to tell the younger ones that there is a different life than they were expecting. He tried to tell me, but I didn’t believe him, I couldn’t believe him, even if we dream and hope of another life it doesn’t automatically make it real or possible”
“That’s why we must change it, you as much as me, Pussycat, you have to shine and prove that because you’re an omega you are special” Satoshi’s voice sang with the sound of determination again and although his heart sang with the hope of it his head asked;
“But what if I’m just an omega?”
“There is no such thing as just an omega, Pussycat. No matter how bad your life is there is a reason that you’re living it”
“Even your brother?”
“Even my brother. After all he brought me to you and together we will make the changes the world needs…”
