After the club part 52
Jun prided himself on being a man that didn’t shock easily. At 54 he had seen a lot of things in his life and most of it wasn’t good but he remained unflappable in the face of it so the decidedly unmanly squeak that escaped his lips when he walked into the office of Ohno Satoshi was damn near embarrassing but it wasn’t every day you saw one of your officers sat upon the lap of a man looking so aroused and, dare he say it, sexy with his flushed cheeks and parted mouth. Jun recovered himself quickly drawing in a sharp breath and feeling almost murderous. He gave Ninomiya a hard time and time and time again he had tried to get him to quit. Not because he wanted him to actually hand in his noticed but because he wanted him to show the best that he could be.
Ninomiya was the type that worked better under pressure otherwise they became lazy and unmotivated. His work had improved over the last few days, in fact he was tired of his friend Ikuta Toma singing the boys praises whenever they were in the same room together. He knew that Toma was homosexual, it had been an awkward couple of months of failed attempts of matching him to one of his wife’s friends for that particular conversation to appear and if he hadn’t known his oldest friend and colleague was already in a happy relationship he would have assumed that the boy had turned his head.
Now he suspected that it ran deeper than he had thought and he supposed that Toma knew about the relationship between Ohno and Ninomiya and hadn’t bothered to tell him. Jun wasn’t going to stand for it. Oh he couldn’t interfere with their personal lives and nor would he but currently Ohno was involved in their work and he would not have Ninomiya caught up a scandal or doing something that may end up harming the case. Ninomiya let out a squeal and then fell off the lap of the other man and then scrambled to his feet and Jun felt a vein pulse in his left eye and his hands clenched at his side.
“Ninomiya…” He barked barely noticing that Ohno stood up and moved forward as he advanced on Ninomiya who looked genuinely terrified of him. “What the fuck are you playing at?” He spat and Ohno cleared his throat and he ignored him keeping his focus on Ninomiya. “You are jeopardising the entire investigation…”
“I’m sorry…” Ninomiya breathed his Adam’s apple bobbing up and down in his throat and Jun gave a small growl deciding that an apology wasn’t enough. Ninomiya bit hard on the corner of his mouth looking fearful before he recovered himself blinking slowly as he stood up a little bit straighter “I’m sorry…But I don’t see how my personal life is jeopardising the investigation. Satoshi is helping us of his own freewill…We’re both consenting adults…”
“Ninomiya-san…That isn’t the issue…” Jun sighed lowering the tone of his voice so he was speaking slowly and calmly to the younger officer honestly not wanting to see him throw his career away and genuinely worried that he may have pushed him so far that he might see his only option being to leave “The issue is your judgement being called into question…If this were too go to court there is a very real chance that it could be thrown out by any competent defence attorney because there was a conflict of interest…”
“But wouldn’t that only be the case if Satoshi is involved…”
“He is involved as the attacks happened in his club…Look we’ve almost reached a breakthrough with this…Why don’t you wait until the suspects have been caught? If not, I’m going to have to ask for your badge as I can’t have you messing up this case…”
