New Beginnings part 74
(MatsuMiya Chapter)
Jun cast the man beside him a few looks as they drove out of the city and into the much cleaner air of the countryside. Nino had switched on his MP3 player at some point and rock music was being played softly through the speakers. It was the sort of music that he normally played while getting motivated in the Gym and not for when he was in the car but Nino was singing along to the music that was being played and he was surprised to find that he had a pleasant voice. It wasn’t as nice as Satoshi’s was but it was a close second and far better than anything he could do. Nino hadn’t bugged him for information and Jun was glad as he wasn’t completely sure if he would be able to keep resisting him. Bohemian Rhapsody came on next and as if on instinct they both began bob their heads in time with the music.
They both started singing towards the end and soon Jun pulled into the carpark that he had found whilst searching the internet. He picked a shady spot beneath a pair of trees and then he got out of the car hurrying around to the other side to open the door for Nino. He took his lover’s hand and linked their fingers giving him a tug and pulling him out of the car.
“Come on then my brat…” He purred determined to be as charming as his father had told him to be. It was difficult though when all he wanted to do was order him about to get the flush in his cheeks and the determination in his eyes. It was a strange thing but it had become their way and he was determined that for today at least it wouldn’t be that way. Nino gave him a smile and looked around at the forest that he had brought them to probably not expecting a carpark in the middle of nowhere. “Not what you were expecting?”
“…You’re full of surprises...I’m learning not to expect things…” Nino chuckled and Jun grinned pressing his lips to his knuckles before realising that they had to get on. “So I hike?”
“…A walk…Apparently there are some ancient ruins and a waterfall that are worth looking at…” He hummed softly worried that Nino would scoff before his surprise but he didn’t, in fact he looked happy which made him worry about the main part of his date. “Come on then…”
“Lead the way…”
Jun locked the car door with a press of a button and then collected the picnic basket that he had prepared before leading Nino towards the mouth of the opening remembering the directions that he had studied late at night and when he was working determined that they would get to their intended destination in one piece. For one moment he thought that he should that he should have brought the dog, it was going to look strange to other people to see two men walking together, but that would have been impossible for the main section of their date so he pushed that feeling aside and concentrated on the fact that Nino was at his side and his hand was in his. Nino was looking around with a happy expression on his face as he asked;
“Do you come to the woods often?”
“…Not as much as I used to…Satoshi and my mum would take me to parks and for walks…When my mum died…I stopped…This is the first walk that I’ve been on since then…” Jun admitted surprised to realise that that was true. He had become so wrapped up in grief and focusing on work that he hadn’t stopped to enjoy the simple things.
“…Then I’m glad…And we should enjoy it as much as possible ne?” Nino grinned moving in and kissing his cheek lightly Jun nodded and they carried on through the forest until they reached a clearing and his surprise. “A-A…A…Hot air balloon?!”

A/N: I love hot air balloons…I have no idea if they are popular in Japan or not but I love them so MatsuMiya are going on one!
