It seems to be a trend lately among Americans to want to drink things like flavored water and the like. I constantly see this or that "on the go" in nice, convenient little packets that you can add to water.
I think in concept this is great, and wanted to get some of these wonderful things.
Until I read the label.
Every SINGLE flavored water has sucralose (splenda) in it, except for the Glaceu Vitamin water, Sobe's Life Water, and (though harder to find) *some* Clearly Canadian. Everything else has Splenda in it. Now, some of you will say "But Splenda is made from sugar!". Maybe. But it's only partially sugar. The rest of it is artificial sweetener.
We have no idea what the long term effects of artificial sweeteners is, especially since it pervades our beverages so much! It's in our juice, our water, our tea, our soda -- it is harder now to find beverages WITH sugar than with Splenda. Shouldn't we have a choice?
Please give me back my sugar. If you made the Tropicana flavored waters, the Propel, and the other brands of flavored water and on the go packets of powdered drink mix with regular, good old sugar in them, I'd buy them. And so would so many others.
Give us a choice.
