An Open Letter to Cosmopolitan

To Whom It May Concern:

I recently received a notice in the mail that I have not yet paid for renewing my subscription to Cosmopolitan. I do not recall sending anything in to renew my subscription and in fact I do not intend to renew it. I have been severely dissatisfied with Cosmopolitan because it seems to me, and others I’ve spoken with, that each issue is the same every month but with a new stick thin model/actress/singer in some skimpy, slutty dress on the cover. Even I will admit that there have been some interesting articles; otherwise I would not even have bothered to read the magazine when it eventually arrived in my mailbox, but those articles are few and far between. I do realize that Cosmopolitan is a fashion magazine, but women do want to read other things besides the latest celebrity hair or shoe trend and the latest tricks to keep their man satisfied in bed (which does not need to be in every single issue by the way). I also do not need to read another atrocious article about Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie or Lindsay Lohan. As I said before, you are a fashion magazine not Star or US Weekly. Another reason I am despondent with your publication is that I do not receive new issues until they have been on the newsstand for well over two weeks. I was under the impression that when one subscribes to a magazine, one would receive said magazine on or before the newsstand release date. Until these problems are rectified I will not pick up another issue.

Sincerely,

Krystal Caldwell
