Life Sucks (for the moment at least)

I am supposed to be on a plane right now heading to North Carolina for a little vacation and yet I am still at home. All last week I wasn't feeling well, but then on Saturday I woke up feeling wonderful and so I headed out with Jess, Eric and Aimee to the pool hall and then to Bailey's where we meet up with Julie. I felt fine the next day too. Then BAM! Monday morning my throat is so swollen and my nose is so stuffy that I can barely breathe or talk. I figure it will all go away, but on Tuesday it was the same plus a fever of 102.4, so my mom made me an appointment for yesterday. Surprise surprise, I was feeling better by Tuesday night and my fever broke. But then Wednesday morning, I was right back to being sick girl and to make matters worse, I had to cancel lunch with Katie which makes me even sadder since I haven't seen her in a while and I had a lot of good stuff to tell her. Anyhow, I went to the doctor and they had to take my temp, which sucked because I can't breathe out out of my nose, but my temp was back too - 101.5, so at least it was down from the day before. Then they took my blood pressure 102/70, which is really good and which really surprised me considering my family has a history of high blood pressure. Then they did the nasty throat culture to determine if I had Strep or not. Even though I hated the nurse who did the throat culture, she redeemed herself by giving me orange juice and tylenol for my fever.

I waited forever for the doctor to come in and it wasn't my regular doctor either. He was on vacation so I was seeing his new partner. She walked in and said "Well the Strep test came back positive." All I could think was well I guess I'm not going anywhere any time soon. So she looked in my ears and my nose and attemped to look at my throat, but I could barely open my mouth. What she could see though was that I definitely had Strep. I asked if it would be alright to fly since I was supposed to be leaving for North Carolina. She said I could go, but that the cabin pressure would be hell on my ears and that it would take a while before they would get back to normal. So I opted not to go and am therefore stuck here in bed until this all clears up. Wonderful isn't?

In other news, I'm going to go back to sleep since there isn't anything else to do.
