Welcome to the genre. For more hair-pullingly bad action, I reccomend Laurell K Hamilton. Additionally, if you ever doubt your ability to publish such a novel, read a few of her books and you'll redouble your efforts, if only to bail the genre out.
Decent authors include Kim Harrison and Kelley Armstrong. There's not a lot of incredible talent in the pool but the books have heart, so I like them.
Aw, thanks for stopping by. <3 If I may ask, which stories were you checking out, and did you like any of them? And are you a writer, too?
The funny thing is that I remember when Laurell K Hamiliton was a good writer. Her first few books were pretty decent - Anita didn't get laid during them - but she's totally become her own parody.
That being said, I've come to the hopeless conclusion that, while I may write a story in which romance is important, it won't be a real romance novel. I'm too much a fan of action/adventure, plots, and character development to get over-dramatic and purple-y with my prose. At least, I hope I'm a little better than that. ^_^;;; Anyway, thanks again for stopping by. Hope to hear more from you.
Well, I happened upon this comment again--I'd forgotten that I'd seen it, repressing the memory. But, lo and behold, as I did a google search for librairies that have my books, this popped up.
So, it's been about a year, and I bet you have your paranormal romance done by now. How did the writing go? Do you feel you were able to execute it all? Do you feel that you achieved what you wanted to? Is your book the one you want to read yourself?
We are all better readers than writers, so it would be interesting to hear about your success with the paranormal.
Hey, I'm a reader of In the Circle of Elemental Arms, and I must say I've been obsessing about it since I started reading it. I've reread it twice already since about 2 weeks ago, and came across this site after running a search of the title in Yahoo :P I just wanted to say that I fell in love with your writing, and I am a huge fan of fantasy and action, which is exactly what you write best.
I'm sad that you've been busy with r/l, but I just wanted to say that I really love your work and hope that you are able to accomplish and publish the book soon :D Do spread the word when the book is out, I'll definitely be one of the readers!
