Hello people! Here's yours truly, back home from the wars stuff I've been busy with since the school holidays started :)
Firstly, for the whole of December:
My family's domestic helper ("maid" makes her sound like a slave, which is baaaad) went home for the whole of December. Since my wheelchair-bound paternal grandma stays with us, our family (esp my bro & I) took turns to have "grandma duty", staying home to just be available & help her with whatever she needs.
(She just came back an hour ago! Haha.)
In addition, there were household chores to be done. I've found that while I still quite like sweeping the floor, I don't really like mopping it. Yes I am strange.. And, laundry and ironing is my thing while cooking isn't really. I can cook simple stuff (e.g. fried rice) but once, I managed to overcook ramen until it became like udon. Bleh!
Secondly, for every Wednesday except Dec 23 (Dec 2, 9, 22, 30):
SFC meetings for the whole day, planning & doing stuff for Easter Week/Life Concert, Open House, Principal Meets Christians, etc. 'Nuff said about those.
I really do believe God is doing something great within SFC :D He's been so awesome & He'll continue being as awesome as He is! Praise God. And then, may God's love overflow from us to others!
YM CAMP 2009 (Dec 16 advance party, Dec 17-20 Thursday-Sunday)
In summary: Awesome. Expect the unexpected, most of all from God - because He's unlimited, boundless.
I'd experienced so many things regarding this camp (before & after included, hence the word "regarding" and not just "during"), I'm awestruck. I'm awestruck at the fact that God chose to use me so greatly in the camp comm when He could have done it all without ever needing to. The very day after returning home from camp, I just closed the door, knelt on my bedroom floor and cried so much but I didn't know where all those tears came from. I was just so overjoyed!
I learned truly to "seek first His kingdom" (Matt 6:33), and I'd been refreshed to the point as though I've been reborn. All the things I'd encountered/learnt about: spiritual warfare, the need to have that desperate faith - regarding my family & my youths; it's just mindblowing. My God is truly an awesome God, who speaks into the hearts of people. He spoke to my heart.
Matthew 11:28-30
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
Hebrews 11:6
"And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."
Desperate days with desperate faith.
He will come through for us.
I got to know so many people more through camp - Cheryl, Avril, Jingwei, Jolyn.. The opportunities I had to talk more with you all and get to know you all more was really God-given, and I'm so very thankful for them. Even the camp comm, I believe so strongly that it's not by chance (SAJC thing: No One Is Here By Chance! Haha..) that I was in the same committee as you all. More than working with all of you, I think getting to know each and every one of you was a wonderful thing, because you're all incredible people & servants for the Lord :)
To my camp group, The Wine Workers: I apologise, once again, for not joining you all for so many things. If I wasn't busy with admin stuff, then I was in huge need of sleep.. But you know, I was so touched because you all were so welcoming to me every time I did join you all for group stuff. It was sweet of you all :)
To my youths: I thank God so much for each and every one of you. There are so many things when you all exasperate me, misbehave during bible study & not listen to me, insult me, etc, but I believe that you all are placed in my life for a reason & I hope I can be a good YSGL to all of you. Through your sharing during camp, I've been encouraged to see how God has been working in your lives, and it's my prayer that every one of you will grow in your relationship with Christ & grow to become men and women of God :) Press on my dears! The road ahead is not easy, but don't compare your relationship with God to other people's relationship with God. Turn your eyes upon Jesus, and Him only. :)
To my own YSG, God's Dunamis: Thank you for our sharing during camp, our time of fun together, and our time of prayer. It was really uplifting & I'm glad to see how we've bonded more over camp. Let's bring that back to the rest of our cell back in YM! Check our Google Group for more details.. HAHA. Just kidding!
This camp, all in all, was memorable. God moved in such a mighty way - not in the hype of loud music, but in the quiet, in the stillness.
In the quiet, in the stillness
I know that You are God.
After camp, there was a mad rush of catching up with SFC stuff, then Christmas shopping with people so very dear to me :)

I've got to go for my paternal cousin's birthday chalet later, then going for watchnight service. Great to start the new year renewing my covenant with God.. My family's going to Downtown East earlier to have some fun, so see you folks another time!
