'O' level results!

Jan 13, 2009 10:11

Since my brother's computer (which I have successfully hijacked in his absence) is unable to be connected to the scanner, I can't post a picture of my result slip here as a lot of others are doing. Haha. But in any case, my results are good according to most people, and I really really thank God for them too! :) It's really amazing, seeing how (I ashamedly admit that) I didn't prepare very well before Os. I remember I was all like, God, this is all I did before this paper, so please bring me through it and give me the results you want me to have.

And.. I received 8 points raw score, 6 after deducting my bonus points.

I really felt pretty emotionless all the time before we received our results. Trust in God, yes I did, but I believe it was the peace of God too. I just couldn't feel anxious. Funnily enough, I didn't exactly jump around in joy immediately after opening up the letter and seeing what I got for my L1R5. I guess being un-anxious about it all that time before that made me need to re-emotional-ize myself. :P

For all those whom I promised to call/msg after I got my results, I'm terribly sorry I took so long! I only started calling and messaging after my beloved Samantha called me (she was the first despite being in school). After a while I think I got warmed up and when I eventually picked up a call from Elliot, I couldn't sit still and was pacing and jumping around as I was talking to him.

After telling my dad my results, he said, "So.. I have to give you a computer right?" I triumphantly replied with a huge YES!! Hahaha. Yay hello to my new laptop in February or March!

(Sorry for those who don't want to see my results, it seems like when I post an entry from the browser itself my lj-cuts don't work. If you don't want to see them kindly scroll down really really quickly, thanks.)

Here's the rest of my results:
English - A1
Comb. Hum - A2
Geography - A2
E Math - A1
A Math - A1
Physics - A1
Chemistry - B3
Biology - B3
Chinese - B3
Chinese oral - Distinction

I wasn't quite expecting a B3 for Biology actually, I wanted at least an A2. But B3 for Chemistry is like wow, so seriously seriously praise God for everything!

Midway while I was talking- no, chattering away to Elliot, Ms Chua and I spotted each other. I ran to her and hugged her super tightly :) Well. It's because during Os, I messaged her promising that I will give her an A1 (Ms Chua's my A Math teacher) - and I delivered on my promise. And of course I wouldn't have gotten that A1 for her if not for her wonderful teaching abilities. She congratulated me on that and my L1R5 as well, haha.

I honestly would not have been able to get these grades if not for God, of course, as well as my beloved teachers, friends and classmates whom He surrounded me with. I just want to all those who've helped me in so many different ways because I couldn't have done it without all of you:
Ms Chua my A Math teacher, for the pizza treat and simply for being there for each and every one of us / Mr Phang my Physics tutor / Sam for all the SMSes + cards + encouragement / Stacy for your SMSes, always reassuring me that you're praying for me / Elliot / Tricia and Ryan for the study session we had in YWCA / Joanna (my YSGL & mentor) for praying for me constantly / 4C3 people, you all are amazing classmates :) / lin lao shi and those in my chinese class for working hard together / Kheng for the really long SMS you sent before we got our results / Jeremiah for the long SMS as well / Tiffany for the long MSN chats we had and the encouragement / Padma and Yee Ting for the studying we did in school / everybody else who believed in me especially when I didn't believe in myself, for believing in me in the first place.

Thank You LORD for never letting me go and standing by me all this while.

Congratulations to all those who got better than what they expected/got what they wanted/are happy with their results! :) Oh I was seriously so happy for those Crescentians who got like 9 A1s/8 A1s 1 A2/7 A1s 2 A2s when they went onstage to shake hands with our vice-principal Mrs Chan. So proud of them!!

Now, I'm stuck choosing between ACJC or SAJC. Which has a better study environment? Which would I have a better network in? Which has lecturers that can help me do well in As so that I can go to a good university? Which has a better environment in which I can grow in God and in faith?

It seems as if a lot, and I mean A LOT, of Crescentians if not Sec4/JC1-students-who-are-in-no-man's-land-currently want to go to SAJC. So should I not waste my first choice on AC and put SA straight down instead? Hmmm. I'll be going for each school's open house (although I may not be able to make it for AC's open house due to tutoring later) and see what they can offer and what I can offer to them.

Lord, where do You want me to go?

thanksgiving, friends, in crescent, events, testimony, god, faith, choices, post-os
