I'm so excited for YM Camp 2008: King of Glory! I had attended a camp leaders' meeting on Tuesday night, where our camp commandant Alvin (Ding) shared the camp theme and the direction in which it is headed. Since I am unwilling to spoil Elliot's plan of hiding the camp message from readers, I shall not disclose it here. But I just have to say that it really will dig deep into many, as well as turn and stir many hearts.
So watch out for camp!! Keep praying for YM camp; it needs, the leaders need and the campers need all the prayers we can get :) I'm excited for YM camp, ARE YOU?
After almost three quarters of a year away from my guitar, I've finally returned to playing. I can't believe how much I've missed my guitar! And my hurting fingertips! And the callused fingertips! Haha.
I do want to learn more about playing the guitar though, because the knowledge I have is really ultimate basic. Anyone can help me, please?
Looking at my old photos taken during my Suphanburi mission trip with other YMOVErs, I feel very saddened for the state that some are in currently. That December was when I truly experienced what Christmas was all about. I wouldn't have exchanged the experience with anything in the world. However, with the financial crisis we are in now, so many people do not have the mood to celebrate Christmas. But, is the celebration of Christmas really so conditional? Many of my friends don't celebrate Christmas, and they don't know the meaning of Christmas. I wish they knew. I wish they knew just exactly what reason they have to celebrate this joyous day despite the political situations in several countries, and the current state of the economy. I wish they knew why Christians all around the globe celebrate Christmas.
This is a Christmas where we can really find out why we celebrate Christmas. Almost everyone is scrimping since you'll never know when you or your parents may lose their jobs - with this going on, what about presents now? Well, there isn't any need for them after all. Christmas is to give your love away; to give more of it away than you normally do, or to start giving it away to others.
The true meaning of Christmas?
Nuh-uh.
This is the true meaning of Christmas.
(No, I don't mean the cake.)
I know that some may argue that December 25 isn't the exact date when Jesus was born, but well it is just a date set to celebrate the birth of our Saviour, who died - and saved our lives as He lost his - and was resurrected - giving us eternal life.
