Blessings in abundance
Friday night after supper and after Hearts Aflame, was a time where I really saw how God gives in abundance. It was really quite cool! Haha.
Esther, Jed and I were walking, walking, walking down the long windy pavement to the bus stop. It was 11.25pm then. The last bus was around 11+ pm, so we were quite anxious to hitch a ride on the bus to Orchard MRT. I was praying for God to provide us with a bus to take. A while later, 160 or some other bus we could take came zooming by, but we were not close enough to run after it. That caused me to curse in my head, thinking, "Why, God, why? To have something so near yet so far, and when we're so anxious to be able to take public transport home?"
Then 77 came. Immediately, I was praising His name. That caused me to reflect; why is it we are so quick to blame God for something that happens in our life which we think is not beneficial to us? It didn't even occur to me until Jed mentioned that He was giving us more than we asked for! Not one bus, but two. For if we missed the first, we could take the second.
A similar incident happened with the MRT. By then, it was 11.50pm. As we approached the station, I saw the electronic signboard that read, "Last train - 2 minutes" and I was startled! But as the escalator continued to move down, I saw that it was the train to Marina Bay. Thank God, indeed. There were two trains to Jurong East, the second last approaching in a minutes' time, and the last in about 5 minutes time. He is amazing indeed. We even managed to catch the one that came in one minute!
He gives us more than what we ask for, blessing us in abundance :)
Yet my grandma's incessant complaints are annoying me.. sigh.
