And sometimes, we feel that God has forgotten the little, tiny beings of us. We're just a speck in this huge world. Miniscule ants have God's eyes upon them; what's more about us? (I'm tired of the bird example. Hmm.)
Passion and Purity
Elisabeth Elliot
Not a star, not a planet, not a meteorite or a quasar, no, not even a black hole or a black dwarf is missing. God made them. He knows their names, knows exactly where they belong. Can He keep track of us?
Indeed. Sometimes I'd like to deny my feelings altogether; don't things seem a lot simpler without them? Emotional detachment. All this, in fear of You not being able to understand and be updated on what's going on outside and in the heart. The emotional detachment makes things easier, simpler, but we, sadly, experience so much less. Perhaps I should stop wishing things to be different from what they are, but changing myself is so difficult. Human nature to push the blame, I suppose, but I need not succumb to it, yes? Change, change, change, change. Myself that is. Hail Obama! CHANGE!
Anyway. I'm feeling a bit holler-y so please don't mind me as I shoot my mouth fingers off. Hello world, I would possibly declare you my friend should you be able to stand this strangeness of mine. I promise you this is strictly temporary, and I will regain my normal self soon. I do not promise, however, that my normal self will be very much far off from this. Hello you. :)
I wonder if things would be different only if I could learn to shield myself from my own crazy thoughts. The journey from the heart to the head is a long one, as so Jia Cheng says. Could it be helped?
It started out as a feeling
Which then grew into a hope
Which then turned into a quiet thought
Which then turned into a quiet word
And then that word grew louder and louder
Til it was a battle cry
I'll come back
When you call me
No need to say goodbye
Just because everything's changing
Doesn't mean it's never
Been this way before
All you can do is try to know
Who your friends are
As you head off to the war
Pick a star on the dark horizon
And follow the light
You'll come back
When it's over
No need to say goodbye
You'll come back
When they call you
No need to say good bye
books,
you,
