Tribute to a great teacher. ♥

I prayed for God to do a miracle in my life today during a peaceful time of quiet while the rest of the school was still more or less deserted. Although what I'd been through today isn't what I'd call a miracle, but it has really made feel so blessed. I've learnt a lot more about Ms Chua that makes me respect her all the more, too.

Ms Chua treated 4C2 and 4C3 (my class) with pizza today, for our good A Math MYE (Mid-year exam) results. We orginally were supposed to have the pizza right after lesson at 12.30pm today, but it was a rainy day and the delivery man was late (or rather, just not on the time we'd wanted him to arrive at).

While waiting, Ms Chua was talking to Shi Qi, Ruyi, Wendy and myself. The three of them were asking her if she was free on 4 June to participate in their class outing to Seoul Garden, but she regretfully told them she couldn't make it as she had to take her mother for a doctor's appointment in the morning. I really admire her filial piety.

In the end, Ms Chua called Ms Ng and came to an agreement that Ms Ng lets us off at 2.10pm to go have our pizza. Ms Ng kept to her promise and ended the lesson five minutes earlier than expected. :) We'd had a great time polishing the pizzas off - I only had 1 slice before I realised everything else was gone, though. Haha, oh well. After several bouts of loud "thank you"s to Ms Chua, the rest started leaving.

Aish, Nad, Michelle, Hyeon, Jiali, Cherlyn, Fi, Wendy, Vanessa, Guin, Choo and Shi Han had stayed back after the pizza party. Since Aish wanted to drink Sprite, we (or rather, they, since I couldn't drink cold drinks and I don't drink soft drinks anyway) started playing guess-the-number. The one who guesses the number correctly "wins" and has to drink a cup of Sprite. Poor Ms Chua was bullied into drinking half a cup of Sprite after much bargaining for being the first to come up with a number. Wendy, Vanessa and Guin had left early. At the last round, Ms Chua was sabo-ed into drinking another half-cup of Sprite, haha! It was amusing..

Halfway through the game, Ms Chua had asked me to get some toilet paper to clean the table up. I took a whole roll. :P At about 3pm (we'd spent about 30 mins just sitting down there playing that game! :O), we cleaned up the place again with the toilet roll and helped Ms Chua bring the unfinished drinks back into the staff room. All in all, it was a great bonding session! I'd thoroughly enjoyed it.

Through it all, I could also see Ms Chua's commitment and generosity towards us.. I'm very grateful for that. It's really, really heartwarming and I'm honestly so glad to have a teacher like this to play a part in my life. :)

*Draws a reflected circle on her tablet*
"Ugly, but never mind."

Ms Chua is da bomb. :D
