SD Firestorm 2007 - 24th October, Part 2

Other SD Firestorm 2007 updates
Updates are in reverse chronological order.

Not updating as frequently, as I'm pretty under the weather (due to the combination of asthma and poor air). So I'd like to point out meatballsoda's list of online resources... most of what I've been blogging comes from these sources anyway. My other sources have been KPBS and various TV news broadcasts.

10:08p: Still not much to report. There's all of one TV station broadcasting news right now (and I've generally found KUSI to be one of the least useful, so as far as I'm concerned, there might as well be no TV news). So, I'm calling it a night. The usual blogs and Twitter feeds should still be active as news becomes available.

8:16p: Witch Fire at 20% containment.
Rice Fire up to 9,000 acres, 20% containment.
Poomacha Fire at 35,000 acres, 10% containment.
Jamul and Jamacha are evacuating, per nateritter.
News is still slow; I'm also not checking it quite as frequently (see above note).

6:36p: I feel much better after a long nap. So, things that happened while I was asleep:
Evacuation warnings were posted for the following areas around 4:00p: Carve Acres, Lake Morena Village, Lawson Valley, Japatul Valley, Campo.
About an hour later, another warning was issued - residents along the 94 corridor between Jamul and Jamacha should prepare to evacuate.
Homes on the Pauma reservation were in the the path of the Poomacha fire as of approximately 5:00p. (This may or may not still be the case, haven't seen anything one way or the other.)
Evacuation notices were lifted for Hidden Meadows and Mountain Meadows.
Once again, officials say that the Witch and Poomacha fires haven't actually merged. Small comfort, that.

3:16p: New fire in southeast Camp Pendleton.

3:06p: First one-stop assistance center for those who have lost homes/other evacuees is open at 18448 West Bernardo Rd.
4S Ranch residents within SD city limits may not yet return; road closures are blocking access.
I'm a little late on this, but there are no evacuation orders remaining within the city of San Marcos.
