White Sox opened at home today!

They played a fantastic game judging by the replays I saw, with Buehrle starting off and the Sox winning 5-0 over the Cleveland Indians.  The last time we had a shutout on Opening Day was in 2005, when we won the World Series.  I know that just because we started off our season this year like in 05 doesn't mean it'll be a repeat, but it's a damn good way to start the season.  Guillen trained the boys hard this spring and it's really going to pay off.  I'm really excited to see how this season goes, it looks like we're going to do great!

In other news, school is finally slowing down for a week.  I turned in my big 2D project today and I have two exams tomorrow.  Otherwise this week should be easy.  I'm ready for summer just to take a break from these big art projects (well, and be able to see my amazing friends and awesome boyfriend all of the time).  Even though I'll be taking summer school, three classes will be better than the 6 I have now, and it's only for a few weeks.

I started my position as Facebook Administrator for Housing two weeks ago and it's been going really well.  I've been attending a lot of meetings and contributing a lot of helpful ideas to the IUSB Marketing and Communications director, the marketing consultant from Villing, and the director and assistant director of Housing.  It's a pretty prime position that I'm very grateful to have.  It's exciting and perfect for me and is allowing me to quit Hacienda altogether, which means I will have nights and weekends to myself next year.  That means I will be able to work more on school projects, enjoy the nice weather in between classes instead of worrying about homework, and be able to see Kyle a lot more.  The position also boosts my resume a TON.

I'll also continue working for the Preface next year and hopefully do an internship with Ken in Spring '11.  My senior year I will be applying for editor-in-chief; if I don't get that position then I'll just be a staff writer.  I've got all of my classes laid out so that I will graduate on time with no worries at all, which is pretty awesome.  I was afraid that I wasn't going to be able to.  It wouldn't be the end of the world if it didn't work out that way, but I just want to get into the actual journalism field and do what I love instead of going to school for it while doing it on the side like I am now.  Plus it's always been a personal goal of mine to get out of college just after I turn 22, and it looks like I will be.
