I've just fully understood the power of First Canadian Place. At first, this place looks like a home for suits, like any of the rest of the towering buildings in the financial district of Toronto, but this one is quite special. Located underneath and throughout is everything, everyone ever needs. There is a pharmacy, clothing stores, dry-cleaning, liquor store, a grocery store, jewellery stores, an Indigo 'spirit', novelty gift shop, photography, food, stationery stores, cigar shop, doctors office, gym, dentist, lazer eye surgery clinic plus lawyers and money companies of sorts.
So, I'm not the only one at St. Andrew Station on a Friday afternoon carrying a six pack onto the subway. Once the Bay Adelaide Centre comes in, there will probably be a fight for my affection. Or hopefully, I won't have to deal with the financial district at that point. FCP is about all it is awesome for, because really, who wants to deal with suits all day?
If you ever need to get through the labyrinth that is 'The Path', I'll be your David Bowie and take you where you need to go...or just sing "Dance magic dance," for you. You pick!
This robot and his mad scientist know the power of the FCP undergroung...
