So to stay in touch with some of the goings on in Toronto, I read the Star almost everyday. I usually read from other news sites, but when Paul and Judith came here from Toronto and informed me about the TTC strike, I realized that BBC News and the NY Times really don't quite cover everything...I came across this article today.
http://www.thestar.com/article/425568 I just have to say, people are tourists in France all the time, and half the time they feel unwelcome. Yet, people still flock to France every tourist season, same with New York. France may have a bad rep, and it's not entirely true, but realistically, no one in Paris feels like it's their responsibility to make sure a tourist feels welcome. Are you kidding me? I say, just do what you do. I've never drank with unhappy backpackers at the Hostel on King and Spadina, or learned how unhappy Hilton stayers were on there stop in Mercatto. I hated the atmosphere in New York, but that won't ever stop me from going back to visit.
