Because the World is Round, it Turns Me On
Nipped by the cinnema club earlier, tonight's showing was Across the Universe and it's one of those nice ones that find their way into my system. -By means of seeing and hearing, not snorting, drinking or what have you.
There was something off about it, but I can't quite... I suppose it's a natural consequence of making film based on a medley of acid induced music from the sixties, covered by new faces.
-Speaking of which, Jude resembled a sliiightly beefier version of this handsome thing (a(m(B)ap)) I met at a party this Christmas (his handsomeness caused me to come to his mate's (k(m(t)ap)) after party, of which I remember next to nothing, but I'm left with a vague suspiscion that I hit on him. Ran into them again a week later and after avoiding them all night in fear of what might have gone down last time (though I saw most of it coming up after I went home the morning after) I finally said hi to the less-of-a-look'er and got another after party invite, which I interpreted as a safe sign that my first impression hadn't been too bad, and I accepted to dig up what I'd been like, and to see the handsome one. Only to discover he's got a girlfriend and works abroad. After this I met up with his friend a few times until I told him I wasn't interested if he meant them to be dates. Haven't seen or heard from him since.)
I love so many elements of it, and it probably helps that I'm no die hard Beatles fan (evidence to support: I've had a laugh listening to a cd of their stuff done on pan pipes!).
I'm weak for British accents and people with tallent. Max was extremely charming (Apperantly he's starring in a film about Amelia Earhart, the aviation pioneer that a friend of mine (m(m(a)k)) nick-named me after last week...), and Sadie and JoJo were these sexy characters who resembled Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix. There were plenty of well known people appearing at odd places and I'm a sucker for the clip-art stuff, the references -not only to music, but historic events also- and the easy living... Ahh! Makes me want to go NOW! Happily I'm going London Sunday, mmm <3
