Egad it's been ages since I posted. I guess I tend to be too private of a person. Sorry about that, to anyone who cares. =)
Hmm, since the last time I posted, the following things have transpired:
Going to be heading to Puerto Vallarta in December, for Christmas with mumx0rz. After that, heading to the Philippines with Alva for random third world tropical experiences. I've been promised a harem and an unlimited quantity of mangoes. True story.
I need more adventures that don't just include traveling. Perhaps I should rouse the other people in my apartment to have a hostile take over of the apartment building next door. We can hoist the Jolly Roger, lay out the cannons from our bay windows, and rappel across the ravine with rapiers in hand. They won't know what the hell hit 'em.
Also, thinking about moving to Manhattan sometime early next year. I'm already working from home most days, and all of the other tech leads are working remote (from Florida, Los Angeles, Conneticut, etc.), so I could probably do the same. It'd be so much easier moving, when I don't have to worry about finding a new job. I can basically just pick up and move anywhere in the country. Huzzah!
Anyways, that's my semi-annual LJ update of my dull life. Hope everyone is doing fabulously well. =)
Hmm, since the last time I posted, the following things have transpired:
- Went to the Yucatan. Much rejoicing ensued. We hiked across the ruins of an ancient and dead civilization, SCUBA'd through a subterranean cavern system that no human has walked through since the last ice age, mocked all the drunken spring breakers from random Southern states, dove the lush coral reefs off Cozumel in bath-temperature, crystal clear water, and generally slacked off like pros.
- Went to Middle Earth. Er, well, I started playing Lord of the Rings Online. Egad, the last thing I need is a video game addiction. I probably play way too much. Hunter powa! pew pew pew! Erm, ya, no comment.
- Went to Lake Tahoe. Was amused to see Alva's reaction at seeing snow for the first time in her life. She cried over it. The lake was cold as hell, but absolutely beautiful.
- Went to Portland. Hung out with ze best friend and stuff. Took Alva up to the Columbia Gorge, Multnomah Falls, Washington Park, and the Rose Garden. She cried over the beauty. I really miss being around so .. many .. trees! It's really beautiful up there. It was also great to see Will and meet his girl.
- Went to Wine Country. Took Alva out to eat at Tra Vigne, which is a fabulous Italian/Californian fusion restaurant up around St. Helena, after we did the obligatory wine tours at Beringer and elsewhere. Always a beautiful experience.
- Went to San Francisco. Well, I do this all the time, but this time we went and saw Avenue Q. Easily one of the most enjoyable and humorous theatrical performances I've seen in years. ZOMG soo funny. ^_^ Also did a bay cruise with Alvin, Susan, Jenny, and Alva. <3
- Went to Monterey. Visited the aquarium and ogled at the otters. Surprised Alva with an otter puppet, when she wasn't paying attention. Went diving in the far-from-bath temperature ocean waters off the coast. Got engaged while diving in the kelp forests, surrounded by starfish and baby shrimp.
