Here I Am

So, here I sit--procrastinating beautifully on finishing my "Transcription" card for Biology. Something about the process of creating RNA from DNA, involving proteins and enzymes....

Eh, anyway. I am VEEERRRY excited about this new story I'm writing--and yes, a bit guilty about abandoning my other one--but I may get back to it. Right now, I'm fueled with ideas from who knows where for this one, and a bit of inspiration from another source. It follows the story of Katy, a girl who, for reasons that no one will tell her, must take on a false identity and attend a boarding academy in northern Virginia. She doesn't know when she'll see her family and friends again.
But she's got different problems at hand. While she's searching for the reasons she's been sent to Serthings, she encounters someone with identity problems of his own, who turns out to be the link to something rather fantastical that has burdened (blessed?) the school for generations.

Ooh, the fun of mixing normality with fiction. I have a good feeling about this one!

The link to the first installment is here: www.irite.deviantart.com. Click on "Elena", and all the ones starting with E. after that are continuations. That is if you'd like to read it.

In other news, my sister, mom and I are going to see Pride and Prejudice later today--is it good? I'm afraid that, for all it's fame, I don't know much about it.

Ah, back to transcription. (And my new favorite song, The Real Thing by Gwen Stefani.)
