Wow.

So while at a Language translator site, because I needed one more word for the dairy section of the spanish food pyramid we're creating, I eventually ended up trying to translate "I love you" just to see if I would recognize what it came up with.

I did. It came up with "Te Quiero." Which means "I want you."

...A bit different from "I love you", with more negative connotations.

Can you imagine what would happen if somebody who spoke English and had used this website went around in a Spanish-speaking country trying to proclaim their love for someone, yelling "Te quiero! Te quiero!" I dunno, maybe it means differently in Spanish. But Querer is the verb "to want" and I'm pretty sure "amar" is the verb "To love."

-_-

***UPDATE**** I looked up "I want you" in Spanish, to see what THAT was, and it came up with "Le Deseo." So I changed to "Spanish to English" setting, typed in le deseo, and found out that it means..."him desire."

What the hell. I don't think I trust this site anymore. In fact, I'd better erase the word it gave me for "cream".....who knows what THAT means...
