There's a recent article in the LA Times about the Writer's Strike worth checking out. I think the thing in it that upsets me the most is the idea that studios really don't think they should have ever allowed writers to receive residuals for their work, and that with online media, they might have a chance at ret-conning the whole deal. How nuts is that? It does seem like they're trying to grind down the writers to show the actors and directors they mean BUSINESS. I just hope the actors and directors ante up, too. I certainly hope no writers cross the picket line, but it wouldn't surprise me if some do, or if some already have.
