Just in case you haven't seen this skit from the Daily Show writers on the WGA strike, it's worth checking out.
Also I wanted to give a shout-out about the Apex Digest subscription drive. They reprinted "Last Respects" on their online fiction market, and they're running a drive to increase the amount they pay their authors. They're minimum goal is to add 100 subscriptions in November, and right now they're around 40 subscriptions away still. The more subscriptions they get, the more they pay for their stories. So if you've got a few extra bucks lying around, and you want some dark SF, of if you'd like to stuff something shocking in a stocking, think about picking up a subscription.
