My SF/Horror Apocrypha

When I was what they now call "a tween," I was slightly obsessed with SF horror films, I think because they were kind of taboo in my family. I'm talking The Terminator and T2, Alien and Aliens, Predator and Predator 2. I'm thinking you're not going to be a huge fan of Avatar. I could be wrong, but...

I was never into those SF horror flicks. I really loved the original Terminator movie, but Aliens, Predator--meh. It wasn't the horror part, or the SF, it was the suspense. I'm SO BAD when it comes to suspense. I was known to leave theaters if it got too intense.

Yeah, I'm not really expecting to LOVE Avatar, or anything, but I would really like to see it. (I know it's not SF/Horror, but I mentioned it because it's Cameron.)

The one that I really want to see is Inception. I could probably have a good time at Predators, though.

Predators -- could be worth seeing if they stick more on the action side, rather than going for squick.

My hopes for this year are pinned on one movie and one movie only: "Greetings, Programs!"

Dave

You and I must be the only two on the planet that hasn't seen it. I haven't gone because the story just seems so copied - I mean I like Ferngully and Dances With Wolves, but not sure I want to see them again, with dragons added in. Maybe I'll Netflix it.

I'm holding out for the theatrical rerelease, personally. Because the television commercials make me think Dances with Smurfs more than anything else, and I'm hoping the big screen will give it something...more.
